A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE CITY OF VERNON DECLARING THEIR INTEN-
TION TO ORDER CERTAIN WORK AND I1WROVE1~NT
TO BE MADE AS HEREINAFTJiJR SET FORTH AND
DESCRIBING TEE DISTRICT TO BE ASSllISSED TO
PAY THE COST AND EXPENSE OF SAID JO::UC OR
IlIPROVEMENT.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon do
resolve as follows:
Section 1.
That publiC interest and convenience re-
quires and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of
the City of Vernon to order the follow ing street work done
or improvement to be made in said city, to-wit:
That a vitrified pipe sanitary sewer, together with
the appurtenances hereinafter described, be con-
struoted in Alameda Street from a junction chamber
to be oonstructed on the existing sewer in Vernon

25th Street;vand on East 25th street from a point
sevente&n (17) feet westerly from the east line of
Alameda street to a point two thousand one hundred
three (2103) feet easterly from the east line of
Alameda Street; and also from a junction cluunber to
be constructed on the existing sewer in Santa Fe
Avenue to a point five hundred fifty-five (555)
feet westerly therefrom;'and in East 37th Street
from a point fifteen (15) feet westerly from the
east line of Alameda street to a point two thousand
five hundred fifty-one (2551) feet easterly from
the east line of Alameda street;'and in East 38th
Street from a point fifteen (15) feet w'ster~y from
the east line of Alameda Street to a point two
thousand five hundred thirty (2530) feet easterly
from the east line of Alameda street; and across
al~ intersecting streets all along the line of said
sanitary sewer, togetl~r with certain manholes,
junction chambers, flush tanks, iron frames and
covers, service laterals and other appurtenances
in accordance with Specifications No. 12 and Plans
and Profiles Nos. 195, 196, 197 and ~98 and the
following standard plana of said City.
Ma.hholes to be construoted in accordance with
Plan No. C-l.
Flush tanks to be constructed in accordance with
Plan No. C-5.
Junction chambers to be constructed in accordance
with Plan No. C-4.

Sets of cast iron frames and covers in accordance
with Plan No. C-3.
The grade to which the work shall be done and im-
provement made which are provided for in this
resolution is that shown on the Plans and Profiles
to-wit, Plans and Profiles Nos. 195, 196, 197 and
198. Said Plans and Profiles are now on file in
the offic e of the City Engineer of said city, in
which said Plans and Profiles reference is hereby
made for the description of such grade. All
specifications herein referred to are on file in
the office of the City Clerk of said city, All
Plans, Profiles and Cross-sections herein referred
to are on file in the office of the City Engineer
of said city, are hereby referred to and made a
part hereof.
All specifications herein referred to as being on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said city
are nade a part hereof.
Section 2.
That said contemplated work or improvement
is in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon of more than local or ordinary pUblic benefit; that
said Board of Trustees hereby makes the cost and expense of
said work or improvemen't c~geabl. upon a dietrict, which
district said Board of Trustees hereby declares to be the
district benefited by said work or improvement, and to be
assessed to pay the cost and expense thereof. whichdistrict
is bounded and deacl"ibed as follows:
All that territory included within the colored
boundary line as indicated on Map No. 199 of the
City of Vernon, and designated "Map showing assess-
ment district for the improvement of East 25th
street; East 38th Street; and portions of Alameda
Street and East 37th Street. by the construction
of sanitary sewers".
The above description is general only.
A plat or map of
said district indicating by the boundary lines the extent
o~ the territory included in the proposed district is on
file in the office of the City Engineer.
Reference is hereby
description of said assessment district.

Section 3.
The said Board of Trustees also determines
and declares that serial bonds bearing interest at the rate
of seven per cent (7%) per annum shall be issued to represent
each assessment of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) or more
remaining unpaid for twenty (20) days after the date of the
warrant. said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending
nine (9) years from the second day of January next succeeding
the 15th day of the next November following their date. pay-
ment of the principal of unpaid. aSf;>essments and interest shall
be made by property owners to the City Treasurer and same
(I
shall be disbursed by him. all as provided in 'file E'l t;
Improvement Act of 1911!
Section 4. That on Tuesday, the 19th day of May, 1925,
at the hour of ten o'clock A.M. in the Council Chambers of
the Board of Trustees of said City of Vernon, in the City
Hall of 8aid oity. situate oa the northwe.t oorner of East
38th Street and Irving Street any and all persons having any
objections to the proposed work or improvement as herein
described may appear before said Board of Trustees and show
cause why said proposed work or improvement should not be
carried out in accordance with this resolution. Said protest
shall be in writing and filed with the City Clerk of said
Board in said city at or prior to the time set for said hear-
ing as herein provided.
Section 5.
There being no daily. semi-weekly or weekly
newspaper pUblished in said City of Vernon, the City Clerk
of said city shall certify to the passage of this resolution
and is hereqy directed to cause a true and correct copy of
this resolution of intention to be published twice in the
"Huntington Park Signal" a weekly newspaper of general circu-
latian published in the City of Huntington Park, County of
Los Angeles, State of California. in which county the City of

Vernon is located. which newspaper is hereby designated for
the purpose of the publication of this Resolution of Inten-
tion.
Section 6.
The Street Superintendent of the City
of Vernon ahall cause to be conspicuously posted along the
line of said contemplated work or improvement. and in front
of all property liable to be asseased to pay the cost and
expense of said improvement, notice of the passage of this
resolution in the manner and form required by law.
Sect ion 7.
All of the herein proposed work or
improvement shall be done in pursuance of an Act of the
Legislature of the State of California, designated and known
as "The Improvement Act of 1911" and Acts Supplementary
thereto or Amendatory thereof.
