RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TIm
CITY OF VERNON ORDERING CERTAIN WORK TO BE
DONE AND UIPROVEMElfT TO BE MADE AS HERE IN-
A-~ER SET FORTH.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon do re-
solve as follows:
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon
did on the 28th day of April, 1925, at a regular meeting of
said Board duly pass and adopt its Resolution of Intention No.
357, declaring its intention to order the hereinafter described
work to be done or improvement to be made in said city, which
Resolvtion of Intention was duly and legally published as
required by law, as appears from the affidavit of J. A. Bowen,
tLe publisher of the Huntington Park Signal, now on file in
the office of the City Clerk of said City; and
WHEl~, after the adoption of said Resolution of
Intention, to-wit, on the 7th day of 1~y, 1925, notice of the
passage of said resolution was conspicuously posted along the
line of ;.aid contemplated work or improvement in front of all
property liable to be assessed therefor, and at not more than
300 feet in distance apart, in the manner and form as required
by law, as appears f:com the affidav it of T. J. Furlong, Street
Superintendent of the City of Vernon. who personally posted
same. and who upon the completion of said posting of said
notices forthwith made and filed his affidavit in the office
oi' the City Clerk of said City of Vernon. making oath that he
completed. the posting of said notices 011 the 7th day of Hay,
1925; and
~rHEREAS, no objections in writing having been made
or delivered at the time or in the manner required by law, or

otherwise, the Board of Trustees having now acquired jurisdic-
tion to order the proposed work to be done or improvement to
be made, said Board of Trustees does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1:
That the public interest and convenience
requires and the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon does
hereby order the following improvement to be made:
That a vitrified pipe sanitary sewer, together with
the appurtenances hereinafter desc:'i bed, be con-
structed in Alameda Street from a junction chamber
to be constructed on the existing sewer in Vernon
Avenue to a point opposite the center line of East
25th Street; and on East 25th street from a point
seventeen (17) feet westerly from the east line of
Alameda Street to a point two thousand one llundred
tlllee (2103) feet easterly from tlill east line of
Alameda street; and also from a junction chwnber to
be constructed on the existing sewer in Santa Fe
Avenue to a point five hundred fifty-five (555)
feet westerly therefrom; and in East 37th street
from a ~)oint fifteen (15) feet westerly from the
east line of Alameda Street to a point two thousand
five hundred fifty-one (2551) feet easterly from
the east line of Alameda Street; and in East 38th
Street from a point fifteen (15) feet westerly from
the east line of Alameda Street to a point two
thousand five hundred thirty (2530) feet easterly
from the east line of Alameda Street; and across
all intersecting streets all along the line of said
sa.ni tary sewer, together with certain manholes,
junction Chambers, flush tanks, iron frames and
sewers, service laterals and other appurtenances
in accordance with Specifications No. 12 and Plans
and Profiles Nos. 195, 196, 197 and 198 and the
following standard plans of said City.
Manholes to be constructed in accordance Vii th Plan
No. C-l.
Flush tanks to be constructed in accordance with
Plan No. C-5.
Junction Chambers to be constructed in acoordance
with Plan No. C-4.

Sets of cast iron frames and covers in accordance
with Plan No. C-3.
The grade to which the work shall be done and im-
provement made which are provided for in this
resolution is that shown on the Plans and Profiles
to-wit, Plans and Profiles Nos. 195, 196, 197 and
198. Said Plans and Profi~es are now on file in
the office of the City Engineer of said city, in
which said Plans and Profiles reference is hereby
made for the description of such grade. All
specifications herein referred to are on file in
the office of the City Clerk of said City. All

Plans, Profiles and Cross-sections herein referred
to are on file in the office of the City Engineer
of said City. are hereby referredto and made a part
hereof.
All specifications herein referred to as being on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said City
are made a part hereof.
Section 2:
That said contemplated work or improve-
IDent is in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon of more than local or ordinary public benefit; that
said Board of Trustees hereby makes the cost and expense of
said work or improvement chargeable upon a district, w':dch
district said Board of Trustees hereby declares to be the
district l)enefited by said work or improvement, and to be
assessed to pay the cost and expense thereof, v,hich district
is bounded and described as follows:
ALL that territory included within the colored
boundary line as indicated on ~ap No. 199 of the
Ci ty of Vernon, e.nd designated t11JIap shmving assess-
ment district for the irtJprovement of East 25th
Street; East 38th Street; and portions of.Hameda
Street and East 37th Street, by the construction
of sanitary sewers".
The above description is general only. A plat or map of
said district indicating by the boundexy lines the extent
of the territory included in the proposed district is on
file in the office of the City Engineer. Reference is here1)y
made to said plat or map for a further full and complete
description of said assessment district. The said plat or
map thereon file shall govern for all details as to tee
extent of said assessment district.
Section 3:
The said Board of Trustees also deter-
mines and declares that serial bonds bearing interest at the
rate of seven per cent (7%) per annum shall be issued to rep-
resent each assessment of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) or more
remaining unpaid for twenty (20) days after the date of the
warrant, said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending

nine (9) years from the second day of January next sucoeeding
the 15th d~ of the next November following their date. Pay-
ment of the principal of unpaid assessments and interest shall
be made by property owners to the City Treasurer and same
shall be disbursed by him, all as provided in "The Inwrovement
Act of 1911";
Section 4:
For further particulars referenoe is
hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 357 of said
City now on file in the office of the City Clerk in the City
Hall of said City.
Section 5:
The City Clerk is hereby ordered to
post notices invit ing sealed p.oposals or bids for doinG the
described work together with the specifications therefor
conspicuously fOJ; five days on or near the council cha.mber
door of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon.
Adopted and approved this 19th day of Ma.y, 1925.
