The Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon do re-
7 solve as follows:
8'lHEREAS. the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon
9 did on the 5th day of May, 1925, at a regular meeting of said
10 Board duly pass and adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 358
11 declaring its intention to order the hereinafter described
12 work to be done or improvement to be made in said city, which
13 Resolution of Intention vIas duly and legally publishec. as
14 required by law, as appears from the affidavit of .T. A. Bowen,
15 the publisher of the Huntington Park Signal, now on file in
16 the office of the City Clurk of' said City; and
17 \VIDillEAS, after the adoption of said Resolution of
18 Intention, to-wit, on the 20th day of May, 1925. notice of the
19 passage of said resolution was conspicuously posted along the
20 line of said contem.9lated work or improvement in front-,of all
21 property liable to be assessed therefor. and at not more tJ:18.n
22 300 feet in distance apart, in the manner and form as required
23 by law, as appears from the affidavit of T. .T. ]!'urlong. Street
24 Superintendent of the City of Vernon, who personally posted
25 same, and who upon the completion of said posting of said
26 notices forthwith made and filed his affidavit in the office

otherwise. the Board of Trustees having now acquired jurisdic-
tion to order the proposed work to be done or improvement to
be made, said Board of Trustees does hereby resolve as follows:
Section I:
That the public interest and convenience
requires and the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon does
hereby order the following improvement to be made:
That East 52nd Street in said City from the West
line of Santa Fe Avenue to the West line of Alameda
Street be improved in the following manner:
(a) That said street between said limits be
graded and paved with an 8" asphalt concrete pavement
for a width of fourteen feet on each side of the co~-
crete gutter to be constructed along the center line
of said street; in accordance with specifications No.
18 and plan, profile and cross-section No. 145 of
said City;
(b) That a cement concrete gutter 9 inches in
thickness and t.!O feet in width be constructed along
the center line of said street from a point 617 feet
east of the east line of Alroaeda Street to the west
line of Santa Fe Avenue, in accordance with specific[,-
tions No. 10 and plan, profile and cross-section No.
145 of that City;
(c) That decoml)osed granite shoulders 3 inches
in thickness and five feet in width be conwtructed
e.long each side of the pavement of said street in
accordance with specifications No. 18, and plan, pro-
file and cross-section No. 145 of said City;
The grade to .nlich the above work is to be done
is that ~rade shown on said plan, profile and cross-
section No. 145.
Section 2. The said Board of Trusteea also deter-
mines and declares that serial bonds bearin~ interest at the
rate of seven per cent (7~;) per annum shall be issued to rep-
resent eetch assessment of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) or more
remaining unpaid for twenty (20) Clays after the date of the
wa.c-rant, said serial bonds s11<.lll extend over a period ending
nine (9) years from the second day of January, next succeeding
the 15th do.y of the next lJovel!lbar follovling t~:'.eir date. Pay-
ment of the l)rinc...pal of unpedd assessments 3..nd interest shall
:)e made by property owners to the City Treasurer and same
shall be disbursed by him, all as provided in liThe Improvement
Act of 191111;

Section 3: For further particulars reference is
hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 358 of said
City now on file in the office of the City Clerk in the City
Hall of said City.
Section 4: The City Clerk is hereby ordered to
post notices invitins sealed proposals or bids for doing the
described work together with the specifications therefor
conspicuously for five days on or near the council chauber
door of the Eoard of Trustees of the City of Vernon.
Adopted and approved this 2nd day of .Tune, 1925.
