The Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon do
resolve as follows:

Section 1: That Vernon Avenue (sometimes called
East Vernon Avenue) in said City from a point seven and one half
feet. west of the west line of Boyle Avenue that runs north from
said Vernon Avenue~ to the southerly production of the west line

of Lot 10 of John R. Taylor's Vernon Avenue Villa Lots as shown
on Map recorded in Book 4, at page 42 of Maps, in the office of
the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles~ shall be
improved in the following manner:
(a) That said street between said limits be
graded and a atrip 25 feet in width lying 14 feet
north of the center line and 11 feet south of the
center line of the roadway thereof (exclusive of the
two foot concrete gutter along the center line and
provided however the pavement shall be widened at tlw
intersection of Boyle Avenue) be paved with an asphalt
concrete pavement eight inches in thickness.
(b) Als 0 the construction of a cement concrete
gutter nine inches (9") in thickness and two feet (2')
in width along the center line of the roadway from a
point 77.5 feet east of ~1e east line of said Boyle
Avenue to the southerly production of said west line
of Lot 10 of John R. Tay~or's Vernon Avenue Villa Lots.
(c) Also the construction of curb returns at
the northwest and northeast corner of the intersection
of Boyle and Vernon Avenues.
(d) Also the construction of a decomposed gran-
ite shoulder four inchea (4") in thickness ahd four
fee't (4 t) in width along . each side of the pavement
hereinabove described between said limits (excepting
where the pavement is widened at the intersection of
Boyle Avenue.) .

Excepting from all the above described work any
portion thereof required by law to be kept in order or
repair by any person or company havine railroad tracks
thereon.

The grade to which said work shall be
done and improvement made which is provided for in
this Resolution of Intention shall be that shown on
the plans and profiles hereinafter referred to.
That all the foregoing work and improvement
shal~ be done in accordance with plan, profile and
cross-section No. 247 on file in the office of the City
Engineer of said city and further in aocordance with
specifications No. 18 for the construction of pavement,
lio. 9 for the construction of curbs and No. 10 for the
construction of gutters, all on file in the office of
the City Clerk.

Said plans, profiles and cross-sections
and specifications heretofore ap:9roved by said Board
of Trustees are incorporated herein and made a part
hereof and reference is hereby made thereto for a more
complete description of said work as to location and
dimensions thereof.

Section 2: That said contemplated work or

improvement is, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Vernon, of more than local or ordinary benefit; that said

Board of Trustees hereby rookes the cost and expense of said work
or improvement Chargeable upon a district, whioh district the
Board of Trustees hereb,y declares to be the district benefited
by said work ~ improvement and to be assessed to pay the cost

and expense thereof, which district is bounded and described as
follows:

All the land lying within the red
boundary line as shown on a map on file in the
office of the City Engineer of said City, numbered
247-A and titled "1fap showing assessment district
for the improvement of Vernon Avenue.from 7.5 feet
west of the west line of Boyle Avenue to 1726.:1.0
fee.t east of the east line of Boyle Avenue. Except-
ing therefrom any of said land which may be included
within the lines of any pUblic street or al~ey.
The abovie descript ion is general only. A
extent of the territory included in the proposed district is on
file in the office of the City Engineer.
Reference is hereby made to said plat or map

Section 3: The said Board of Trustees also deter-
mines and declares that serial bonds bearing interest at the rate
of seven per cent (7%) per annum shall be issued to represent
each assessment of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) or more remaining
unpaid for twenty (20) days after the date of the warra.nt, said
serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years
from the second day of January next succeeding the 15th day of
the next November following their date. Payment of the principal

of u.~paid assessments and interest shall be made by property
owners to the City Treasurer and same shall be disbursed by him,
all as provided in "The Improvement Act of 1911."
Section 4: That on TuesdajT, the 6th day o,f July,
1926, at the hour of eight o'clock P.M., in the Council Chwnoers
of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon, in the City Hall
of said city, situate at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said city, any
17 and a11 persons having any obj ections to the proposed work or-

improvement as herein described may appear before said Board of
Trustees and show cause why said work or improvement should not

be carried out in accordance with this resolution. Said protest

shall be in writing and riled with the City Clerk of the said

Board of Trustees in said City at or prior to the time set for

said hearing as herein provided.
Section 5; There being no daily, weekly or semi-
weekly newspaper published in the said City of Vernon. the City
Clerk of said city shall certify to the passage of this resolution
and is hereby directed to cause So true and correct copy of this
resolution of intention to be published t'.'fice in the Huntington
Park Signal, a daily newspaper of general circulation published
in the City of Huntington Park, County of Los Angeles, State of
California. in which county the said City of Vernon is located,

Which newspaper is hereby designated for the purpose of the
publication of this notice.
Section 6: The Street Superintendent of the City of
Vernon shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line
of said contemplated work. or improvement, and in front of all
property liable to be assessed to pa.y the cost and expense of
said improvement, notice of the passage of this resolution. in
the manner and for.m required by law.
Section 7:
All of the herein proposed work or
improvement shall be done in. p';U'sua.nce of an Act of the Legisla-
ture of the Sjate of California, designated and known as "The
Improvement Act of 1911" and Acts supplementary thereto or amenda-
tory thereof.
Adopted and approved this 7th day of June, 1926.
