Resolution No. 451 .~. 2 3 RESOLUTION NO: 451 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF VJJlRNON ORDERING CERTAIN WORK TO BE DONE AND IlIPROVEMEHT TO BE MADE AS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH 4, I 5 The Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon do resolve 6 as follows: 7 WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon 8 did on the 7th d47 of June, 1926, at a regular meeting of said 9 Board duly pass and adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 447 10 declaring its intention to order the hereinafter described work 11 to be done or improvement to be made in said City, which Resolution 12 of Intention was duly and. legally published as required by law, 13 as appears from the affidavit of ;r. A. Bowen, the publisher of 14 the Huntington Park Signal, now on file in the office of the City 15 Clerk of said City; and 16 WHEREAS, after the adoption of said Resolution of 17 Intention, to-wit: on the 14thday of ;rune. 1925, notice of the 18 passage of said Resolution was conspicuously posted along the 19 line of said contemplated work or improvement in front o~ 20 all. property liable to be assessed theref'or, and at not more 21 than 300 feet in distance apart. in the manner and form as re- 22 quired by law, as appears from the affidavit of T. Taylor~s Vernon Avenue Villa Lots as shown on Map recorded in Book 4, at page 42 of llaps, in the office of the County Recorder of the County o-r Los Angeles. shall be improved in the follow- ing manner: (a) That said street between said limits be graded and a strip 25 feet in width lying 14 feet north of the center line and 11 feet south of the center line of the roadway thereof (exolusive of the two foot concrete gutter along the center line and provided however, the pavement shall be widened at the intersection of :Boyle Avenue) be paved with an asphalt ooncrete pavement eight inohes in thickness. (b) Also the construction of a cement concrete gutter nine inches (9") in thickness and two feet (2') in width along the center line of the roadway from a point 77.5 feet east of the east line of said Boyle Avenue to the southerly production of said west line of Lot 10 of John R. Taylor"a Vernon Avenue Villa Lota.. (c) Alao the construotion of curb returns at the northwest and northeast corner of the intersection of :Boyle and Vernon Avenues. (d) Also the oonstruction of decomposed granite shoulder four in~hes (4-) in thickness and four teet r4~) in width along each side of the pavement herein- above described between said limits (excepting where the pavement is widened at the intersection of Boyle Avenue). Excepting from all the above described work any portion thereof required by law to be kept in order or repaired by any person or company having railroad tracks thereon.. All plans. profiles and oross-sections herein referred to are on rile in the office of the City Engineer. All specifications herein rererred to are on file in the office of the City Clerk. The grade to which the above described work is to be ~one is dif~erent from the offioial grade as establlshed on Bald street and reference is hereby made to said plan, profile and cross-seotion No. 247 for further partiCUlars. 32 -2- . "-', r~rr 1 2 3 41 I 5 6 7 8 9 Section 2: That said contemplated work or improvement is in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon of more than local or ordinary benefit; that said Board of Trustees hereby makes the cost and expense of said work or improvement chargeable upon a district, which district said Board of Truatees hereby declares to be the district benefited by s aid work or im- provement and to be assessed to pay the cost and expense thereof, ~hich district is bounded and described &8 follows: All the land lying within the red boundary line as shown on a map on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City. numbered 247-A and titled ~ap showing a.ssessment district for the improvement of Vernon Avenue from 7.5 feet west of the west line of Boyle Avenue to 1726.10 feet east of the east line of Boyle Avenue. Excepting therefrom any of said land which may be inoluded within the lines of any public street or alley. The above description is general only. A plat or map of said district indicating by the boundary linea the extent of the territory included in the proposed district is on file in the 10 11 12 13 141 15 16 17 office of the City Engineer. Reference is hereby made to said plat 18 or map for a further full and complete description of said asseas- 19 ment district. The said plat or map there on file shall govern 20 for all details as to the ex:ten't of said asses81Ilent district. 21 22 23 Section 3: The said Board of Trustees also determines and declares that serial bonds bearing interest at the rate of seven per cent [7%7 per annum shall be issued to represent each 24 assessment of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) or more remaining un- 25 pa.id for tyenty (20) days after the date of the warrant, said 26 serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years ~ 9 ~ 27 from the second day of J'anuary lIJXt succeeding the 15th day of · - .~ Ul>p~ 28 . ~ ~ ~ ~.E the next November following their date.
