The Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon do resolve
as follows~
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon
did on the 7th ~ of ~une, 1926, at a regular meeting of said
Board duly pass and adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 444
declaring its intention to order the hereinafter desoribed work
to be done or improvement to be made in aid City, which Resolutiot
of Intention was duly and legally published as required by law,
as appears from the affidavit of J. A. B~en, the publisher of
the Huntington Park Signal, now on rile in the office of the City
Clerk of said City; and
WHEREAS, after the adoption of said Resolution of
Intention, to-1d.t: on the l4thday of June. 1926, notice of
the passage of said R..o~utio.waa conspicuously posted along
the line ofsedd contemplated work or improvement in front of

all property liable to be assessed therefor, and at not more
than 300 feet in distance apart, in the manner and form as re-
quired by law, as appears from the affidavit of T. J. Furlong,
Street Superintendent of the City of Vernon, who personally posted
same, and who upon the completion of said posting of said notices

forthwith made and filed his affidavit in the office of the City
Clerk of said City of Vernon, making oath that he oompl,eted the
posting of said notices on the 14th day of June , 1926; and
WHEREAS, no objectiol1S in writing having been made
or delivered at the time or in the manner required by law, or
otherwise, the Board of Trustees having now acquired jurisdiction

Section~: That the public interest and convenience
require and the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon does
hereby order the following improvement to be made:
That East 30th Street in said City from the east
line of Santa Fe Avenue to the west line of the right
of way cf the Redondo Branch of the Atchison. Topeka
and Santa Fe Railroad be improved in the following
manner:

(a) That said street between said limits be
graded and paved with asphalt concrete pavement eight
inches in thickness (exclusive of the two foot conorete
gutter along the south two feet of the north 24 feet
of said roadway).
(b) That a cement concrete gutter two feet in
width and nine inches in thickness be constructed be-
tween said limits along the south two feet of the north
twenty-four feet of said street.
(c) That an eight inch vitrified pipe sanitary
sewer, together with manhole flush tank, property con-
nections and appurtenances, be constructed from the
existing manhole at a point 235 feet east of the east
line of Santa Fe Avenue. easterly 397 feet.

Excepting from all the above described work any
portion thereof required by 18lN' to be kept in order or
repair by any person or company having railroad tracks
thereon.
All plans. profiles and cross-sections herein
referred to are on file in the office of the City Engineer.
All specifications herein referred to are on file
in the office of the City Clerk.
The grade to which the above described work is
to be done is different from the official grade as
established on said street and reference is hereby
made to said plan, profile and cross-section No. 266
for further particulars.
Section 2: That said contemplated work or improvement

WMap showing Assessment District for the improvement
of East ~Oth Street in the City of Vernon.~ Excepting
therefrom any of said land which may be included withih
the lines of any public street or alley.

The above description is general only.

of said district indicating by the boundary lines the extent of the
territory included in the proposed district is on file in the
office of the City Engineer. Reference is hereby made to ~aid plat
or map for a further full and complete description of said assess-
ment district. The said plat or map there on file shall govern

12 for all details as to the extent of said assessment district.

Section 3: The said Board of Trustees also determines

and declares that serial bonds bearing interest at the rate of
seven per cent (7%) per annum shall be issued to represent each
assessment of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) or more remaining un-
paid for twenty (20) days after the date of the warrant, said
serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years
from the second day of Tanuary next succeeding the 15th day o~
the next November fol1.owing their date. Payment of the principal
of unpaid assessments and interest shall be made by property
owners to the City Treasurer and same shall be disbursed by him,
all as provided in -The Improvement Act of 1911.-.
Section 4: For further particulars reference is hereby
made to said Resolution of Intention No. 444 of said City now on
file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Vernon, in the
fity Hall of said City.
Section 5: The City Clerk is hereby ordered to post
notices inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the described
work, together with the specifications therefor conspicuously
for five days on or near the council chamber door of the Board
