RESOLUTION OF INTEN'rION NO. 460
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES DECLARING
THEIR INTENTION TO ORDER CERTAIN WORK AND Ill-
.PROVEMENT TO BE MADE AS HEREINAF'!'ER SET FORTH
AND DESCRIBING THE DISTRICT TO BE ASSESSED TO
PAY THE COST AND EXPENSE OF SAID IMPROVEMENT.

The Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon do
resolve as follows:
Section 1: That the public interest and convenience
require and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of
the City of Vernon to order the following street work done or
linprovement to be made. to-wit:
That Slauson Avenue in said City from the center
line of Boyle Avenue to the west line of Downey Road be improved
in the following manner:
Ca) That said street between said limits be
graded and the roadway thereof paved with an asphalt
concrete pavement eight inches in thickness.
Cb) that a cement concrete curb be constructed
along the south side of the roadway of said street
together with a curb return at the southeast corner
of the intersection of Boyle and Slauson J~venues.
and curb returns at tte southwest and southeast
corner of the intersection of the proposed extension
of Magnolia Avenue and said Slauson Avenue.
(c) That a cement concrete gutter one foot in
width and nine inches in thickness be constructed
along the south side of the roadway of said street.
provided, however, that the gutter shall be widened
to a width of two feet across the intersection of
Boyle Avenue, the center line of said two foot
/futter shall ce the south curb line produced westerly
\excepting therefrom the gutter from a point ten feet
west of the west line to a point ten feet east or the
east line of the intersection of the proposed exten-
sion of Hagnolia Avenue with Slauson Avenue)..
(d) That a reinforced concrete culvert be con-
structed along the south side of said street at its
cross ir:r; with the Union Pacific Railroad snurs from
a point 487.59 feet east of the east line of Boyle
Avenue. easterly 103.. 5 feet. Also that reinforced
concrete culverts be constructed at the intersection
of Slauson Avenue with the proposed extension of
lfugnol~a Ave~ue. Also 12 inch No. 10 gauge corru-
g~ted Hon.plpe culverts be installed along the north
lIne of s,,:,:d street at the intersection of Boyle Avenue
and at SalQ spur track crossings.

width be constructed along the south side of said street
from the east curb line of Boyle Avenue to t he west curb
line of the proposed l:::agnolia Avenue, e.ndfrom the east curb
line of said lfugnolia Avenue to the west line of Dovrney Road
provided, however, tl1at the walk shall be extended to cover
the entire area between the curb retux'n and the produced sidE
lines of the street at the southeast cornel' of the inter-
section of Boyle and Slauson Avenues.
Excepting frolr.. all the atove described work any portion
thereof required by laY, to be l:ept in orde:c or repair by any
person or company having railroad tracks on said Slauson Ave.
The grade to which the work shall 1;e done and improve-
mcmt made VThich is provicled for in this Resolution of
Intention shall be that shown on the plans and profiles
llereinafter referred to.
'l'hat all the foregoing work and imIlrovement shall be
done in accordance with plan, profile and cross-section No;
239 on file in the office of the City.:~ngineer, and further
in accordance with specifications No. 18 for the construction
of pavement, No.9 for the c.onstl'u.ction of curbs, No. 10 for
the construction of gutters, and No. 19 for the construction
of sidewalks, all on file in the office of the City Clerk.
Said plan, profile, cross-section and specifications
heretofore approved by said board of Trustees are incorporate<
,erein and made a part hereof and reference is hereb~( made
thereto for a nOl'e complete clescri:9tion of sail. work as to
location and dimensions thereof.
Section 2:: That said contemplated work or imlJrOVcment
is, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon,
of more tl1C1.n local or ordinary benefit; that said Board of TrusteE!
hereby makes the cost and expense of said vTork or improvement.
(except that certain sum of money in the sum of Fou:cteen Thousand
Three Hundred Dollars ($14,300.00), which will be paid out of the
