The Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon do
resolve as follows:
Section 1: That the public interest and convenience
require and it is the intention of,the Board of Trustees of
the City of Vernon to order the following street work done or
improvement to be made, to-wit:
That a portion of Alameda Street. f rom the north
boundary line of the City of Vernon to the south line of East

25th Street, and, tilat the east roadway of Alameda Street, frmn
the south line of East 25th Street to the south boundary line
of the City of Vernon, together with intersections and portions
of other streets, be improved in the following manner:
(a) That the east roadway of Alameda Street,
between the south line of East 25th Street and the
north line of Tract No. 3870, as per map recorded in
Book 43 at page 96 of lmaps, in the office of tile
County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles, and be-
tween a point 9 feet north of the south line of Topeka
Avenue and the south City boundary line, be graded, and
the roadway thereof paved with a three inch crushed
rock sub base and an asphalt concrete pavement eight
inches in thickness (except where otherwise shown
on the plans).

That those portions of the east roadway of AlmJeda
Street, between the north line of said Tract No. 3870
and a point nine feet north of the south line of Topeka
Avenue, lying between the existing pavement and the
existing gutter, be graded and paved \vith an asphalt
concrete pavement eight inches in thiokness (except where
othe~vise shown on the plans).
That a portion of the roadway of Alameda Street,
between the north boundary line of the City of Vernon
and the south line of East 25th Street, and from the
existing pavement of the west roadway to the east gutter
line; also portions of Alameda Street between the 8[cst
and west roadways thereof at East 38st street and at
East Vernon Avenue, (except where otherwise sho;m on
the plans), be graded and paved with an asphalt concrete

pavement eight inches in thickness; also, that the
roadway of East 25th Street, from the east gutter
line of Alwueda Street to a line perpendicular to
the south line of East 25th Street, at a point ten
feet east of Alameda Street; also that the roadway of
East 37th Street, from the east gutter line of
Alw.1eda Street to a point ten feet easterly therefrom;
also, that the roadway of East 38th Street. from the
east gutter line of Alalneua Street to a point ten
feet easterly therefrom; also, that the north h<J.lf
of the roadway of East Vernon Avenue, from the east
line of Alameda. Street to a line perpendicular to the
north line of East Vernon Avenue, at a point forty
feet east of the east line of Alameda. Street; also
that the south half of the roadway of East Vernon
Avenue, from the east line of Alaraeda Street to a
line perpendicular to the south line of East Vernon
Avenue, at a point forty-five feet east of the east
line of Alameda Street; als9.that the roadway of East
48th Street, from the east line of Alarneua Street to
a point ten feet easterly therefrom; also, that the
south nine feet of the roadway of Topeka Avenue, from
the east line of Alameda Street to a point ten feet
easterly therefrom; als9,that the roadway of Center
Avenue, from the east gutter line of Alameda Street
to a point ten feet easterly therefrom, be graded
and paved with an asphalt concrete pavement eight
inches in thickness. Excepting from all the above
described roadways, the area to be covered by the
construction of cement concrete gutters thereon (ex-
cept where otherwise shown on the plans).
(b) That a cement concrete curb be constructed
along both sides of the east roadway of Alwneda Street,
between the north boundry line of the City of Vernon
and the north line of said Tract No. 3870; ai~~

City of Vernon to a. point fifteen feet north of East
Vernon Avenue, and from a point eighteen' feet south

No. 3870, and from a point nine feet north of the south
line of Topeka Avenue to a point thirty feet north of
the south boundary line of the City of Vernon, except
at street intersections where cross gutters are shovn
on the plans, they slk'11l be two feet i;; wicth, the
center line of said cross gutters shall be the east curb
line of Alameda Street produced across said intersections;
together with gutter returns -r;etween the curb and the
gutter to be constructed at all said intersections;
also cement concrete gutters shall be constructed along
the sides of the roadway in East 25th Street, between
the east gutter line of Alameda street and a line per-
pendicular to the south line of East 25th Street, at
a point ten feet east of AlarL8da Street; also alone: the

and a point ten feet easterly therefrom; also along
the north siele of the roadway of East Vernon Avenue,

The grade to which the work shall be done, and
improvement made which is provided for in this Reso-
lution of Intention, shall be that shown on the plans
and profiles hereinafter referred to.
That all the foregoing work and improvement mlalll
be done in accordance with plans, profiles and cross-
sections Has. 249, sheets 1 to 6 inclusive, and Standard
Plans No. C-12 and C-14, on file in the office or the
City ~ngineer of the City of Vernon, and further in
accordance with specifications No. 18 for the construct-
ion of asphalt concrete pavement and Ho. 9 for the
construction of cement concrete cure, and No. 10 for the
construction of cement concrete gutter, except where
otherwise noted on the plans, on file in the office of
the City Clerk of the City of Vernon, and sp(3cifications
noted on the plans. Said plans, profiles, Cj:'oss-cections
and spec ifi cations heretofore ap;Jr oved by said 30ard of
Trustees are incor:porated herein and made a part hereof,
and reference is hererJY made thereto for a more com-
plete description of said work, as to location and
dim8llsionB thereof"

City Engineer of said City, nWJbered 249-A, and titled:
"Plat showing Assessment District for the improvenen t

Section 3: The said Board of Ttustees also deter-
mines and declares that serial bonds bearing interest at the
rate of seven per cent (7%) per annum shall be issued to re-
present each assessment of Twenty-five Dollars (i~25.00) or
more remaining unpaid for twenty (20) days after the date of the

Vernon shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of
said contemplated work or improvement, and in front of all
property liable to l:,e assessed to pay the coot and expense of
saiC!. im:Qrovement. notice of the passage of this Resolution in
the manner and form required by law.

provement shall be done in pursuance of an Act of the Legiola ture
