The Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon do resolve
as follows:
WHEREAS. the Board of Trustees of the city of Vernon
did on the 6th day of December, 1926, at a regular meeting of said
Board, duly pass and adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 474,

Clerk of said City; and
WHEREAS, after the adoption of said Resolution of
Intention, to-wit: on the 15th d~ of December, 1926, notice of

the line of said contemplated work or improvement in front of

than 300 feet in distance apart, in the manner and form as re-

Street Superintendent of the City of Vernon, who personally posted

That the public interest and convenience
Section 1:
hereby order the following improvement to be made:
That a portion of Alameda Street, from the north
boundary line of the City of Vernon to the south line of
East 25th street. and that the east roadway of Alameda
Street. from the south line of East 25th street to the
south boundary line of the City of Vernon. together with
intersections and portions of other streets, be improved
in the following manner:
(a) That the sat roadway of Alameda Street.
between the south line of East 25th Street nnd the
north line of Tract No. 38?0, as per map recorded in
Book 43 at page 96 of Maps, in the office of the
County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles, and
between a point nine feet north of the south line of
Topeka Avenue and the south City boundary line, be
graded, and the roadway thereof paved with a three
inch crushed rock sub base and an asphalt concrete
pavement eight inches in thickness (except Vfl1ere
otherwise shown on the plans.)
That those portions of the east roadway of Ala-
meda Street, between the north line of said Tract
No. 3870 and a point nine feet north of the south
line of Topeka Avenue, lying between the existing
pavement and the existing gutter, be graded and paved
wi th an as:;>halt concrete pavement eight inches in
thickness (except where otherwise shown on the plans).
That a portion of the roadway of Alameda Street.
between the north boundary line of the City of Vernon
and the south line of East 25th Street, and from the
existing pavement of the west roadway to the east
gutter line; also portions of Alameda Street be-
tween the east and west roadways thereof at East 38th
Street and East Vernon Avenue. (except where otherwise
shown on the plans), be graded and paved with an asphalt
concrete pavement eight inches in thickness; also.
that the roadway of East 25th Street. from the east
gutter line of Alameda Street to a line perpendi-
cular to the south line of East 25th Street, at a
point ten feet east of Alameda Street; also that
the roadway of Ea.st 37th Street, f'rom the east
gutter line of Alameda Street to a point ten feet
easterly therefrom; also, that the roadway of East
38th Street, from the east gutter line of Alameda
Street to a point ten feet easterly therefrom; also.
tlmt the north half of the roadway of East Vernon
~enue. from the east line of Alameda street to a
line perpendicular to the north line of East Ver~on

Alameda Street to a line perpendicular to the south
line of East Vernon Avenue, at a point forty-five
feet east of .the ea,st line of Alameda Street; also.
that the roadway of East 48th Street, f rom the east
line of Alameda Street to a point ten feet easterly
therefrom; also, that the south nine feet of the
roadway of Topeka Avenue, from the east line of
Alameda Street to a point ten feet easterly therefrom;
also, that the roa.dway of Center Avenue, from the east
gutter line of Alameda Street to a point ten feet
easterly therefrom be graded and paved with an asphalt
concrete pavement eight inches in thickness. Except-
ing from all the above described roadways, the area
tc be covered by the construction of cement concrete
gutters thereon. (except where otherwise shown on
the plans).
(b) That a cement concrete curb be constructed
along both sides of the east roadway of Alameda Street.
between the north boundary line of the City of Vernon
and the north line of said Tract No. 3870; also along both
sides of the east roadway of Alameda Street, between
the south line of Topeka Avenue and the south boun-
dary line of the City of Vernon, at the places shown
on the plans hereinafter referred to; also that curb
returns to the east curb line of Alameda Street be
constructed in East 25th Street, and Alameda Street
adjacent to the northeast and southeast corners of
their intersection; also curb returns in East 37th
Street, at the east line of Alameda Street; also
curb returns in East 38th Street, at theeast line of
Alameda Street; also a curb along the north side
of East Vernon Avenue, from a point Sixteen feet east
of the east line of Alameda Street to a point fort)'
feet easterly therefrom. and along the south side of
the roadway of East Vernon Avenue, from a point ten
feet east of the east line of Alameda Street to a point
forty-five feet easterly therefrom (exoept from all the
above described work where otherwise shown on thepla.ns.)
Also, that curb returns be constructed in Center
Avenue, at the east ~'o adway 0 f Alameda St re et ~
(c) That cement concrete gutter one foot in width be
constructed along the east curb line of the east roadway
of Alameda Street, from the north boundary line of the
City of Vernon to a point fifteen feet north of East
Vernon Avenue. and from a point eighteen feet south
of East Vernon Avenue to the north line of said Tract No.
3870, and from a point nine feet north of the south line
of Topeka Avenue to a point thirty feet north of the south
boundary line of the City of Vernon, except at street
intersections where cross gutters are shown on the plans.
they shall be two feet in width, the center line of
saier cross gutters shall be the east curb line of
Alameda Street produced across said intersections,
together with gutter returns between the curb and
the gutter to be constructed at all said intersec-
tions; also cement concrete gutters shall be con-
structed along the sides of the roadway in East 25th
street. between the east gutter line of Alameda
Stre et and a. line perpendicular to the south line
of East 25th Street, at a point ten feet east of

the roadway of East Vernon Avenue. from a point
twenty-one feet east of Alameda Street. easterly
twemty-four feet; also a cement concrete gutter two
feet in width shall be constructed in East 48th Street.
from the east gutter line of Alameda Street to a point
ten feet easterly therefrom; the center line of sad
gutter shall be a line parallel to and twenty feet
northerly at right angles from the south line of East
48th Street; also a cement concrete gutter one foot
in width shall be constructed along both sides of the
roadway of Center Avenue, between the east gutter line
of Alameda street. and a point ten feet ~sterly there-
from (all said guttlr construction to be7the extent
and in the manner and with the exceptions as shown on the
plans hereinafter referred to).
(d) Alsp, that certain portions of the existing
cement concrete curb and gutter along certain portions
of the east side of the east roadway of Ala.meda Street.
between the north line of said Tract No; 3870 and the
north line of Topeka Avenue, which are broken and in
bad condition, be removed, and new cement concrete curb
and cement concrete gutter be-constructed in place
thereof. The exact locations and lengths of the said
portions of said curb and gutter are shown on the
plans hereinafter referred ta.
(e) That a steel reinforced concrete culvert, with
branches and curb inlets, be constructed at the inter-
section of the east roadway of Alameda Street with East
Vernon Avenue.
There is hereby excepted from all of the above des-
cribed work any portion thereof required by law to be
kept in order or repair by any person or company having
railroad tracks thereon.
The grade to which the work shall be done, and
improvement made which is provided for in Resolution
of Intention No. 474 shall be that shown on theplans
and profiles hereinafter referred to.
That all the foregoing work and improvement shall
be done in accordance with plans, profiles and cross-
sections No. 249, Sheets 1 to 6 inclusive and Standard
Plans No. C-12 and C-14, on file in the office of the
City Engineer of the City of Vernon, and further in
a4cordance with epecU'ications :Ho. 18 for the con-
struction of asphalt concrete pavement, and No.9
for the construction of cement concrete curb, and
No. 10 for the construction of cement concrete putter
a~cept where otherwise noted on the plans on file '
in the office of the City Clerk of the said City of
Vernon, and specifications noted on theplans.

cations heretofore approved by aid Board of Trustees

reference is hereby made thereto for a more complete

Section 2: That said contemplated work or improvement
6 is in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon

25[1 Section 3: The said Board of Trustees also determines
26\1 and declares that serial bonds bearing interest at the rate of
27\\lseven per cent (7%) per annum shall 'be issued to represent each
28 assessment of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) or more "remaining un-
29 paid for nventy (20) days after the ~te of the warrant, said
30\ serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years
