RESOLUTION tfC,1 WIEREAS, petitions have been presented to the Council of the City of Los Angeles re~uesting that proceedings be commenced for the improvement of Downey Road from 9th Street to 796." feet southeasterly of IndilstriaJ. Way and portions 01' other streets and aJ.leys, under the provisions 01' IIAn Act of the Legislature of the State of California, approved April 21, 1911, as amended to Qate, and commonly known as designated as the City Boundary Line Act of 1911,11 and vrAEREAS, a portion of Downey Road, known as Jaboneria Road lies wholly within the City of Vernon,~nd the proposed assessment district to pay the costs and expenses oi said improve- ment includes territory in the City of Los Angeles as well as territory in the City of Vernon, and 'lffiEREAS, under the prOVisions of said. Act it is necessary that the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon, by resolution, consent to the formation of such an assessment district and to the commencement of a proceeding for the improvement of said street, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: (1) That the public interest and. convenience re~uire the improvement of said street in the manner hereinafter described; (2) That the improvement of said street is of more than local or ordinary public benefit. and. that the di strict to be be nefi ted thereby and which should be assessed to pay the co ats and expenses thereof is that district hereinafter described; (3) That the consent of the Board of Trustees of the ;~'''''6f''M'rib'ri~''~''~He~Y1'g.E''11 "to the commencement of proceedings under said Act; to the constr'~ction of the improvement as herein- after described; to the formation of the assessment district hereinafter described to pay the costs and expenses thereof; to the perfornance of said improvement and to the completion or said proceedings ih the manner provided by law.
