A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COmrCIL OF THE CITY
OF V'.illRNON DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A REGULAR
MUNICIPAL ErECTION HELD ON THE 9th DAY OF

WHEREAS, a general municipal election wag held in
of .April, 1928, for the purpose of electing two members of the

City Council, a City Clerk and a City Treasurer; and

\r.HEREAS, it appears that said election was held and
conducted in accordance with the general laws of the state of
California, so far as the same were applicable;

I City Council gave such notice of election as prescribed by law,
14: and appo int ed a board of elect ion, fixed the ir c ompensat ion
15 and established. an elect ion precinct and. polling place and

thereat were received and canvassed and the returns thereon

1928, the persons elected to the respective orfices ror the
term stated and. until their successors are duly elected and
~ualified are as follows:
J. J. Furlong. as Trustee and City CouncilIna.n
of the City of Vernon for the full term of
four years;
Ricl1ard Levy as Trustee and City Councilman of
the City of Vernon for the full term of four
years;
T. J. Furlong as City Clerk of the City of
Vernon for the full term of four years;
F. G. French as City Treasurer of the City of
Vernon for the full term of four years.
The City Clerk and City Treasurer, before entering

upon their duties as City Clerk and City Treasurer of said
city, shall execute a bond to the City of Vernon in a sum as
reliuir-ed by resolution or ordinance, which bond shall be
approved 'by the City Council and filed with the l!ayor of sa id
city..
All newly elected Officers. before entering upon the
duties of the office to which they have been elected, ahall
take and subscribe to the constitutional oath of office and
file the same with the City Clerk.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to the
