A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COO'NCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO ORDER CERTAIN
WORK AND IMPROVEMENT TO BE MADE. AS lillREINAFTER
SET FORTH AND DESCRIBING THE DISTRICT TO BE ASSES-
SED'TO PAY THE COST AND EXPElITSES OF SAID IMPROVE-

The City Counci~ of the City of Vernon do re5o~ve as

follows:

Section 1: ~t the public interest and convenience
8 require and it is the intention of the City Council of the City
9 of Vernon to order the following street work done or improve-
10 ment to be made in said city. to wit:
11 That 57th Street, (sometimes called Center A.venue) from
12 Santa Fe Avenue to a line ten feet easterly from and parallel
13 with the easterly line of Alameda Street to be improved in the

(a) That said street between a-aid limits be
graded and the roadway thereof be paved with
asphaltic concrete pavement eight inches in thick-
ness.
(0) That a cement concrete curb and concrete
gutters be constructed along the sides of said
roadway as shown upon the pla.ns hereinafter re-
ferred to.

(c) That vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer
laterals six inches in' diameter be constructed
in said 57th Street within the limits herein-
before mentioned from the existing main sewer to
the property lines, all as shown on the plans
hereinafter referred to.
(d) That Second Street, between the southerly
line of said 57th street and a. Une 267 feet
southerly therefrom and parallel therewith. be
graded and the roadway thereof paved with asphaltic
concrete pavement seven (7) inches in thickness and
that cement concrete gutter be constructed along
each side of said roadway and c~ent concrete curb
be constructed along the easterly side of said
roadway and certain cement concrete curb be constructed
along the westerly side of said roadWay, all as shown
on the plans hereinafter referred to.

done in accardance with plans, prafiles and cross sections
Nas. 202 and 331 on file in the affice of the City Engineer
af said City of Vernan, and except as otherwise pravided
for an said plan, in further accardance with specification
No. 18 far the canstruction af asphaltic concrete pavement,
specification No.. 9 for the canstruction af cement curb. and
specifica.tian No. 10 far the constructien af cement cancrete
gutter and specificatian No.. 12 for the canstructian af
sanitary sewers. &11 on file in the affice of the City Clerk

heretafore appraved by said city Council are incorporated
herein and made a part hereof and reference 1s hereby made
and deta.iled
thereto. for a mare camplete description of said work. and the
location and dimensions thereaf.

Section 2~ That said contemplated work or improve-
ment is, in the opinion of the City Council of the City af
26 Vernan, af mare than local 0.1' ordinary bene~1t; that said
City Council makes the cost and expense of said work or im-
pravement chargeable upan a district, which district the City
Cauncil hereby declares to be the district benefited by
said work 0.1' improvement, and to be assessed to pay the cost

lines as shawn on a map or plat on file in
the office of the City Engineer of said city
No. 202-A and titled WJPlat showing assess-
ment dietrict for the improvement of cer-
tain pgrtlQns or 57th Street (sametimes
called Center Avenue) and Second Street in
said City of Vernon".
The above description is general only and reference is
hereby made to said plat or map for a further, :f'ull and

complete description of said assessment d1etrict. The said
plat or map thereon file shall govern for all detaila as to
the extent of said assessment district.,
Section 3: That said City Council also determines
and declaras that serial bonds bearing interest at the rate
of seven (7%) percent per annum shall be issued to represent
each assesament of Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars or more
remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of the

warrant. Said serial bonds shall extend over a period
ending nine (9) years from the 2nd of ~anuary next succeeding
the 15til day of next November following their date. Payment
of the principal of unpaid assessments and interest shall be
made by property owners to the City Treasurer and the ~e
shall be disbursed by him, all as provided in ftThe Improve-
ment Act of 1911".
Section 4: That on Monday, the 15th day of April,
Nineteen Hundred and Twenty-nine, at the hour of eight
o'clock P. M. in the Council chambers of the City Council of
the City of Vernon, in the City Hall of said city, situated
at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue in said city, any and a.l1 persons
having any objections to the proposed work or improvement

7 Section 5: There being no daily, semi-weekly or
weekly newspaper published. in said city of Vernon, the City
Clerk of said city shall certify to the passage of this
resolution, and is hereby directed to cause a true and
c,orrect copy of this resolution of intention to be published
twice in the Huntington Park Signal, a. daily newspaper of
general circulation published in the City of Huntington Park,

the city of Vernon is located, which newspaper is hereby
designated for the purpose of the publication of this notiC6ei
Section 6: !he Street Superintendent of the City of

Vernon shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the
line of said contemplated work or improvement, and in front
of a~l property liable to be assessed to pay the cost and
expense of said improvement, notice of the passage of this
Resolution in the manner and form required by law.i
Section 7: All of the herein proposed work or im-
provement shall be done in pursuance of an Act of the Legis-

I -lature of the State of Cal.ifornia, designated and knovm as

"The nnprovement Act of 1911- and Acts supplementary thereto
or amendatory thereof.
Adopted and approved this 19th day of March,1929.
