The City Council of the City of Vernon does resolve
as fo11ows:
W~. the City Council of the City of Vernon did,
on the 13th dq o:f November, 1929, at a reguJ.ar adJourned meet-
ing of said City Counei1, duly pass and adopt its Resolution
of Intention No. 574, declaring ita intention to order the
hereina:fter described work to be done or improvement to be made
in Baid cU,., which Resolution of Intention was duly and regular-
ly published, as required by law, as appears from the affidavit
of Jewel Morgan, Chief Clerk to the publisher of' the Huntington
Park Signal.. Said affidavit is now on file in the office of
the City Clerk of said City; and
WHEREAS, after the adoption of said Resolution of
Intention, to-wit, on the 13th da;y- of November, 1929,
notice of the passage of said Resolution was conspicuously
posted along the line of' said contemplated work or improvement
in front of all property liable to be assessed therefor and
at not more than three hundred feet in distance apar1; in the
manner and form as required by law, as appears from the af-
fidavit of T. J. Furlong, Street Super~tendent of the City
of Vernon, who personally posted same and who, upon the com-
pletion o:f the posting of said notice, f'orthwith made and
filed his affidavit in the office of the City Clerk of said
City of Vernon mak1ng oath that he comp1ehd the posting of

3 or otherwise, the City Council nOW" having acquired juriB-

Thai public intereat and convenience require, and
the City ~ouncil ot the City of Vernon does hereby order,
the tollowing improvement to be made, to-wlt:
(a) 'Xha.t Soto Street, between t.he southerly city
boundary line ot the City of Vernon and a line 38'.57 feet
northerlytrom and parallel with the prolongation easterly
across Boto Street of the center line of Thirty-seventh street,
be graded and oertain portions of the road~ thereof paved with
asphaltic concret~aTemen't 8 inches in thic-kneBB, and that
cement concrete gutters and cement conerete curb be conatrucrted

along the sides ot said road~, all as ehown on the plans here-
tnatter referred to.
(b) That oertain portions ot thoBe portions ot Fruit-
land Road, Fiftieth Street, Leonis Boul.evard and Vernon Avenue,
13ing between Boto street and lines 60 teet on each Bide ot and
parallel with the oenter line of Soto street produced across said
public ways and also certain portions of those portions of Forty-
s1xth street and Thirty-seventh Street lying between Soto Street
and lines 60 feet westerly f'rom and parallel with the center
line of Soto Street, be graded and the roadways thereof paved witb
asphaltic concrete pavement 8 inches in thiclmess and Chat cement
concrete curb and cement concrete gutter be conatructed along
the Bides of' sa.id roadwa;ys all as shown on the plans hereinafter
referred to.

Road at the intersection of' said streets, one on the euterly
side and one on the westerly side of the road~ of said Soto
Street, als.o that the exis.ting reinforced cement concrete culvert
on the eut side of So1Oo street at Leonls :Soul.evard, be remodeled
and extended eaaterly, ncmtherly and souther17, and also that a
reinforced cement concrete culvert for drainage purposes, be.

The said City Council also determines and declares
tha-t serial bonds bearing interest at the rate of seven (7%)
per ce.nt per &nnuJII sha.ll be issued to represent each asaess-
ment of ~enty-f1ve ($25.00) Dollars or more remaining unpaid
18 tor thirt7 (30) d-.ys after the date of the warrant. Said seri&!.
19 bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the
20 2nd d-.y of January next succeeding the 15th drq of next November
21 following their date. PqD1ent of the principal of unpaid as&888-
