RESOLUTION NO. 585
3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THJj] CITY OF VERNON
DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION
4 HELD ON THE 14TH DAY OF APRIL, 1930.
WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held in
the City of Vernon, State of California, on Monday, the 14th
day of April, 1930, for the purpose of electing three members
of the City Council of said City; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said election was held and
conducted in accordance with the general laws of the State of
California as far as same were applicable, and that the City
Council gave such notices of election as prescribed by law and
appointed a board of election, fixed their compensation and
established an election precinct and polling place, and that
said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat
were received and canvassed and the return thereon was made in
the time, form and manner as required by law; and
:/HEREAS, the Oi ty Council did meet on this, the 21st
day of April, 1930, being the Monday next succeeding the date
of said general municipal election, said date being the date
of a regular meeting of the City Council and at said meeting
the Board canvassed the vote cast at said general municipal
election; whereupon it was found that the votes cast at said
election in the consolidated election precinct established
therefor were as follows:

vTHEREAS, it appears from a canvass of the votes
cast at said general municipal election that the persons
next herein na.med received a maj ority of all the votes cast
thereat for the respective offices mentioned,
N~N, THEREFORK, It is hereby resolved, determined
and declared by the City Council of the City of Vernon that
at a general municipal election held in said City on the 14th
day of April, 1930, the persons elected to the respective of-
fices for the terms stated and until their successors are duly
elected and qualified are as follows:
J. B. LEONIS, as Councilman of the City of Vernon
for the full term of four years;

P. J. DURBIN, as Councilman of the City of Vernon
for the full term of four years;
J. W. KNIFFIN, as Councilman of the City of Vernon
for the full term of four years.
The newly elected officers, before entering upon the
duties of the office of Councilmen of said city, shall take
and subscribe to the constitutional oath of office and file

sa.me with the Clerk.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to the
paseage of this resolution and thereupon the same shall be in
full force and effect.
Adopted and approved
I, T. J. FURLOHG, City Clerk of the City of Vernon,
do certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by
the City Council of the City of Vernon and signed by the
Mayor of said City at a regular meeting thereof held on the
21st day of April, 1930, by the following vote:
