RESOLUTION NO. 640
A. RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON C~ING
A SPECIAL FUND '1'0 BE KNOWN AS AN E1JlERGENCY FUlID.
The City Council of the City of Vernon does resolve
as follows:
THAT WHEREAS, it. has been brought to the att.ention
of' the Oi ty Council of the city of Vernon the necessi ty oJ:
e.reating a. fund to be known as an "Emergency Fund", to take
care: of all emergenc ies tha.t might arise through the br'eaka.ge
of machinery in the electric power pla..nt, water departmen't, or
any other emergency not contemplated in fixing the bttdgets
annually,
NOW, TmmEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Sect ion L That there shall be set aside and tr-ans-
farred all m.oneys now in the General Fund not heretofore ap-
propriated, after allowing, in addition to the appropriations,
such an amount as may be necessary for &.dvancements required
by the City, into a separate and distinct fund to be known as
the City of Vernon's Emergency Fund;
Seriion 2. Money in said fund shall be used for
any emexgenc.y that might arise and not contemplated in the
fixing of the tax rate annua.l1.y;
Sect ion 3. No money shall he drawn from said fund
without the approval of the o-i ty Counc i1 and then only in
ease of an emergency caused by fire, flood or the m-eaking
of machinery, equipment, pipe lines, or for the pa.yment or
advancement for bond interest or redemption pending the collec-
tion of taxes. Said moneys from sa.id fund shall be drawn only
upon a vote of four-fifths of the members of the City Oouncil.
The City Treasurer shall deposit said fund in the
same manner as other- deposits of the City, and shall secure
