A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON URGING
FAVORABlE ACTION ON THE APPLICATION OF COUN'TY SANITATION DIS-
TRIC1'S NOS. 1, 2, 5 and 8 FOR A LOAN OF MOlllEY.

TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOiVS:

THAX WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention
of the City Council of the City of Vernon that heretofore
pr'otests. by d.n:div idua.ls and others at San Pedro have been

filed with the Federal Emergency Relief Administrator, protest-
ing the application of County San it at ion Districts Nos. ~, 2,.,
5 and 8 for a loan and gra.nt for the construction of the joint
Outfa.ll saw:e~ to White Point, on grounds stated in said pro-
tests; and

W'ElimEAS, it is the opinion of the City Council of
the City of Vernon that the industrial wa.stes of the City can
be disposed of more advantageously and ec,onomieall.y by ocean

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council.

Sec-tion 1: That the Administrator of Public Works

be urged to act favorably upon the a.pplication of County Sanita-
tion Oistricts Hos. 1, a, 5 and 8 for a loan of $1,980,000 and
a grant of 3)840,000, so as to permit the work to pr'oceed imme-

Section 2: That the City Clerk shall certify to the
paaaage of this Resolution, and he is hereby inatructed to
transmit four certified copies there.of to the Emergency Relief
Administra.tor of .Public Works at Los Angeles, California, and
one certifi.ed copy thereof' to the County Sanitation Distr-ie:t,
Los Angeles, California., and said Resolution shall be in. full.

RESOLUTION NO.
It having been brought to the attention of this oity oounoil.
of the City of Vernon that protests have been flledby individuals
and others at San Pedro with the Federal Emergenoy Relief Adminis-
trator protesting the applioation of County Sanitation Distriots
Nos. 1, 2, 5 and g for a loan and grant for the oonstruotion of
the Joint Outfall sewer to White Point on the grounds of eoonollllY,
of water reclamation from the sewage instead ofdisoharge into the
ocean, and it is the opinion of this oouncil that the industrial
wastes of the City of V~rnon and the adjoining territory oan be
disposed.of more advantageously and economically by ocean disposal,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City CoundJil of the
City of,Vernonthat the Admlnistrator of Public Works be urged to
act favorably upon the application of County Sanitation Districts
Nos. 1,2, 5 and g for a loan of $1,950,000 and a grant of $840,000
so as to permit the work to prooeed immediately, and ,the City Clerk
is instruoted to transmit oopies. of thiis resolution to said Adminis-
tra.tor of Publio Works at Los Angeles.
