",. iI 1 RESOLUTION NO. 787 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A REGULAR 1UT.NICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON 3 THE 14TH DAY OF APRIL, 1936. 4 5 WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held in 6 the City of Vernon, State of California, on Tuesday, the 14th 7 day of April, 1936, for the purpose of electing two members of 8 the City Council of said City, a City Clerk, and a City 9 Treasurer; and 10 WHEREAS, said election was held and conducted in 11 accordance with the General Laws of the S ta te of California 12 as same were applicable, and the City Council gave such 13 otice of election as prescribed by law, and appointed a board 14 of election, fixed their compensation and established an elec- 15 tion precinct and polling place, and said election was held 16 nd conducted and the votes cast thereat were received and 17 anvassed and the returns thereon were made in the time, form 18 manner as required by law; and 19 WHEREAS, the City Council did on this, the 20th day 20 f April, 1936, being the Monday next succeeding the date of 21 aid gener& municipal election, and at such meeting the City 22 ouncil canvassed the votes cast at said general municipal elec- 23 ion; whereupon it was found that the votes cast at said election 24 ere as follows: 25 For CounCilmen, full term: ./ James J. Furlong 9J votes Richard Levy 84 votes For City Clerk: Thomas J. Furlong 96 votes For City Treasurer: Frm klin G. Franch 94 votes '<( 9 ~ 26 III 0 ~ ~ ~ OJ 27 iii> z~ ~:;l cn~~~u "'<0::0: . 28 OUOIII~:': III ....> 0:: U>I-...l<:<( ii: <(o~n. ~~>>llIz 29 WHEREAS, it appears from the canvass of the votes ;:E!:!:l) 0 oUu,?~ ~ g~ 30 ast at said general municipal election that the persons next IIIZ !:;:) 31 ~x herein named received a majority of all the votes case thereat 32 for the respective offices mentioned: .. 1 NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, DETERMINED 2 AND DECLARED by the City Council of the Ci ty of Vernon that 3 at a general municipal election held in said city on the 4 14th day of April, 1936, the persons elected to the respective 5 offices for the term stated and until their successors are 6 duly elected and qualified are as follows: 7 James J. FUrlong as Councilman of the City of Vernon for the full term of four years; 8 9 Richard Levy as Councilman of the City of Vernon for the full term of four years; Thomas J. Furlong as City Clerk of the City of Vernon for the full term of four years; 10 11 12 Franklin G. Franch as City Treasurer of the Ci ty of Vernon for the full term of four years.
