THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'rHE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
THAT WEEREAS.. the Cit,. Engineer and Water Superintendent
of the Ciq of Vernon baa reported to the City Oouncil t~t the
...ater levels of the city are 10..... that the cit7's Well 1'0. 2
is 111 immediate danger of ceasing to function" owing to worn
out equipment.. and that it would be buardoua for the city to
delay the repairing of the pump for a period of the time that
...ould. be required to ad.vertise for bids to repair same; and
WEEREAS, it is the op1n.icm of the OityCounoi1 tbat
it i8 neceasaIT to immediatel,. expend public money to safeguard
life" health and property;
BOW" THEREFORE" BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1: That the public interest and necessity
demand the immediate ~xpenditure of public money to safeguard
life, health and proper~, owing to the condition of the pump-
ing equipment of one of the cit,.'s wells, designated as Well
1'0. 2.
Section 2: That the Oity Engineer be" and he hereby
i8, authorized, instructed and emp~wered to immediately take
all steps necessary to put Well No. 2 in conditio>>. to fUrnish
water to the ci~, and the Oit'yCouncil hereby authorizes the
said Ciq Eneineer to expend. the money neceas8.17' to place the
pumping equipment of. We~l No. 2 in good order, but not to ex-
ceed the sum of $100.00.
Section 3: That the Oit7 Clerk shall certify to
the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
