J. FURLONG, City Clerk of the City of Vernon, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution No. 866 was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Vernon, and approved by the Mayor of said City, at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 18th day 32 r valve may be opened to allow the passage of approximately two hundred (200) gallons per minute. When the water clears, the discharge may be increased by one hundred (100) gallons per minute increments, allowing the water to clear each time before increasing the discharge. The discharge may be thus increased up to five hundred (500) gallons per minute upon the first run, provided the drawdown in the well does not exceed twenty (20) feet per one hundred (100) gallons per minute increment. If this drawdown is exceeded, the well must be pumped for a sufficient length of time to clean the strata at that discharge before increasing the discharge. Upon the development of five hundred (500) gallons per minute, the pump shall then be throttled to two hundred (200) gallons per minute and surged at that capacity not more than three times before allowing the water to clear. When surging at this capacity will pro- duce no more mud or sand, surging in the above manner may be repeated at increments of one hundred (100) gallons per minute, up to and in- cluding five hundred (500) gallons per minute. When the water is clear after surging at five hundred (500) gallons per minute, the pump discharge may be increased by one hun- dred (100) gallons per minute incrernents to fifteen hundred (1500) gallons per minute, or to the capacity of the well as determined by the drawdown couve which will have been nlotted bv the Engineer from the data obtained by the foregoing tests: The de~eloping shall then be continued by surging at the capacity of the well until practically free from sand and adjudged satisfactory by the Engineer. After the above test, the pump shall be removed and the well sandpumped clean to the bottom. rI'he Contractor shall furnish, as part of the testing equipment, a suitaole flow measuring device, acceptable to the Engineer, together vl'i th a satisfactory c.evice for measuring the water level in the well. Under no circumstance will the well be accepted by the City unless the Contractor has the equipment and develops the well as herein provided. 12. DISPOSAL OF SPOIL AND CLEANUP During operations the spoil from the construction and testing of the well shall be confined within the premises upon which the well is being constructed. The Contractors will be required to dispose of the spoil bank created by drilling operations and upon completion shall leave the property free from debris and in a clean, neat and orderly condition. 13. DEPTH OF WELL The City shall be required to pay for only 'such depth of well as is in good condition, thoroughly cleaned of all rock, sand or other undesirable material. - 7 - ~
