THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF V]''RNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Upon representation to the City Council of the City of Vernon, California, that Las Vegas Land and Water Company intends to purchase certain lands within the limits of the City for the purposes of industrial development thereof, which said lands are separated from each other by the 100-foot right ot way for power line purposes in Lot 21 of the 500-Acre Tract of the Los Angeles Fruitland Association, as shown on a map recorded in Book 3, page 156, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California, owned in fee by the Bureau of Power and Light of the City of Los 9 10 11 12 13 14 Angeles, and that the public convenience and necessity require a street between Downey Road and Magnolia Avenue to be opened through said lands and across said 100-foot right of way, so located as to be substantially parallel with Leonis Boulevard, and either along the northerly boundary of said Lot 21 and of Lot 22 adjoining said Lot 21, or in line with an existing reser- vation of easement 40 feet wide ~or street purposes across said 100-foot strip, the center line of which is approximately 408 feet north of the northerly edge of Leonis Boulevard. 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the City of Vernon be, and he is hereby instructed to prepare, execute and deliver to said Las Vegas Land and Water Company a letter to the following effect: It is understood that the said Company will, at the end of such time as shall be reasonably required to formulate completed plans for the development of said lands for industrial purposes, dedicate to the City for public street purposes, either (I), strips of land not less than 40 feet wide over the portions of said Lots 24 25 32 21 and 22 owned by it, between Downey Road and Magnolia Avenue, '0( gz 26 ala: >- 0( 0_ o u!!:" 27 Ui> it.J:l llllllz~o(z ..c(z~o(u~ OUa:~"li~ 28 .. .~>oa:1:: ~>"'''~D..o(~ "000(00( ~ 29 Oc(>>-lIzz ....!::!:"'o~ ""uUO..... o "i Cl ~ :t 8z~ 30 ... .. j: .. ~~ 31 ;:t . J,' . 1 substantially parallel with Leonis Boulevard, and in oontinuation of the said present existing 40-foot easement aoross said 100-foot right of way, or (2), strips of land 60 feet wide along the northerly boundaries of the portions of said Lots 21 and 22 owned by said Company. Whioh of the two looations is to be opened as a street is to be determined as the publio neoessity and oonvenienoe require in view of oonditions existing at the time of dedioation and in oonformity with completed plans for the development of said lands. Upon such dedioation the City will aooept the same, and if neoes- and prosecute sary, the City of Vernon will institute/prooeedings to oondemn an. easement for publio street purposes aoross said northerly 60 feet of the portion of said 100-foot strip lying within said Lot 21. In the event of the opening of said street along the north- erly boundaries df said Lots 21 and 22, and upon proper applioation by Las Vegas Land and Water Company, Los Angeles & Salt Lake Railroad Company or Union Pacifio Railroad Company, the City will grant a franohise for the oonstruotion and operation of a railroad traok along the northerly edge of said street.
