RESOLUTION NO. 903
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A REGULAR AnJNICIPAL ELECTION
HELD ON THE 12th DAY OF APRIL, 1938.

5 WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held in
6 the City of Vernon, State of California, on Tuesday, the 12th
7 day of April, 1938, for the purpose of electing three members
8 of the City Council of said City; and
9 WHEREAS, it appears that said election was held and
10 conducted in accordance with the general laws of the State of
11 California as far as same were applicable, and that the City
12 Council gave such notices of election as prescribed by law and
13 appointed a board of election, fixed their compensation and
14 established an election precinct and polling place, and that
15 said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat.,
16 were received and canvassed and the return thereon was made in
17 the time, form and manner as required by law; and
18 WHEREAS, the City Council did meet on this, the
19 18th day of April, 1938, being the Monday next succeeding the

20 date of said general municipal election, said date/being the date
21 of a regular meeting of the City Council and at said meeting the
22 Board canvassed the vote east at said general municipal election;
23 whereupon it was found that the votes cast at said election in
24 the consolidated election precinct established therefor were as
25 follows:

cast at said general municipal election that the persons nexr
herein named received a majority of all the votes cast there~t
for the respective offices mentioned. I
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved, determifed
and declared by the City Council of the City of Vernon that
at a general municipal election held in said City on the 12th
day of April, 1938, the persons elected to the respective offices
for the terms stated and until their successors are duly elected
and qualified are as follows:
John B. /J. B. Leonis, as Councilman of the City of Vernon
for the full term of four years;
Estevan E. R. Peralta, as Councilman of the City of Vernon
R / for the full term of four years;
Herman Scheider, as Councilman of the City of Vernon
for the full term of four years.
The newly elected officers, before enterimg upon
the duties of the office of Councilmen of said City, shall take
and subscribe to the constitutional Oath of office and file
same with the Clerk.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to
the passage of this resolution and thereupon the same shall be
in full force and effect.

I, T. J. FURLONG, City Clerk of the City of Vernon,
do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted
by the City Council of the City of Vernon and signed by the
Mayor of said City at a meeting thereof held on the 18th day of
April, 1938, by the following vote:
