8 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
A RESOLUTION OF TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, CALIF-
ORNIA.,AUTHORIZINGAND INSTRUCTING FRANCIS BATES~ CITYENQINEER
OF THE CITY OF VERNON, TO FILE AN APPLICATION FOR A11ID ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY OF VERNON TO TEE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA~ THROUGH
THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY ADMINISTRATION OF PUBLIC WORKS, FOR A GRANT
TO AID IN FINANCING THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CITY OF VERNON TRAFFIC
CONTROL SIGNALS ~ AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO FURNISH SUCH
INFORMATION AS THE GOVERNMENT MAY REQUEST .

Section 1: That Francis Bates, the City Bngineer of
10 the City of Vernon be, and he is hereby, authori~ed, instructed
11 and empowered to file an Application for and on behal.f of the
12 City of Vernon,. to the United States of America, through the
13 Federal Emergency Aaministration of Public Works, for a grant
14 to aid in financing the improvement of the City of Vernon traffic
15 control signals.

Section 2: That Francis Bates, the City Engineer of
17 l!ls.tdCity be, and he is hereby, authorized and direoted to
18 f'ul"nish such information as the Un! ted States of Amerio8.i-
19 through the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works,
,20 may reasonably request in connection with the Application
21 which is hereby authorized to be filed.

Section 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
23 certify to the passage of th1s resolution~ and thereupon Ell d
24 thereafter the same shall be inf'ull force and effect.
