RESOLUTION 1013

3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ESTABLISHING
A POLLING PLACE, APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICERS TO CONDUCT AN ELECTION
4 TO BE HELD APRIL 9, 1940, AND FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION.
5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1: That at the general City election to be held
7 at the City Hall of the City of Vernon, California, on April 9,
8 1940, there shall be one voting precinct in said City, and the
9 polling place in said precinct shall be in the lobby of the City
10 Hall of said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, Calif-
11 ornia.

Section 2: That the election officers to conduct the said
13 general municipal election to be held on Tuesday, April 9, 1940,
14 are hereby appointed and designated as follows:

(1) Cora Smith;

18 Each election officer aforementioned being an elector and resid-
19 ing in the City of Vernon, and the compensation of said election
20 officers shall be Ten Dollars ($10.00) for his or her services at
21 said election.
22 Section 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
23 directed to certify to the passage of this resolution, and, there-
24 upon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

That I am now, and during all times herein mentioned was, the
duly qualified and acting City Clerk of the City of Vernon, County
of Los Angeles, state of California; that, pursuant to law, I did,

day of March, 1940, post the attached Notice of
Election in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon,
to-wit: At the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue;
at the northwest corner of 37th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; and on
the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of the City of
Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.

NOTICE OF ELECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a regular municipal
election will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 1940, in the
City of Vernon, California, for the election of the fol-
lowing officers:
Two (2) Councilmen, for the full term of four years;
One (l) City Clerk, for the full term of four years; and
One (1) City Treasurer, for the full term of four years.
