THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 5 6 .THAT WHEREAS, one of the members of the City CounciJL of the City of Vernon, duly appointed to act for the City in the matter wherein the Federal Government, Los Angeles Coun~y Flood Control District, Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway 7 8 9 10 Co., Union Pacific Railway Co., and the City of Vernon were 11 interested; and 12 WHEREAS, at a meeting in the City of Los Angeles, 13 where all parties interested were present; and 14 WHEREAS, at said meeting the representative of the City of Vernon presented a plan that was in his opinion of 15 16 mutual interest to all concerned; and 17 WHEREAS, at said meeting when all, of said rep:resentatives were present, the representative of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway at said time and place, the City's representative asked. the Atchison, Topeka representative why they could not approve it 18 19 . and he said, the reason was, that they could not trust the City of Vernon. J. ENGEL, President of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, at 80 Jackson Street, Chicago, Illinois; W. K. ETTER, Vice-President of' Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, at 80 Jackson Street, Chicago, Illinois; JOHN R. HAYDEN, Assistant to President, Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, at 113 9 Sansome Street, San Francisco, California, and E. E.
