RESOLUTION NO. 1032 A RESOLUTION OF' THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA, AM~NDING RESOLUTION NO. 993 OF THE CI'lY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, ADOPTED ON THE 25th day OF JULY, 1939, AS AMENDED BY RESOLUTION NO. 1001, ADOPTED AUGUST 17, 1939, AND AS AMENDED BY RESOLUTION NO. 1030, ADOPTED DECEMBER 17, 1940, RELATING TO THE ISSUANCE OF THREE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($,5350,000.00) OF' BONDS OF CITY OF' VERNON SEWER DISTRICT NO. ONE AND CHANGING THE FORM OF BOND AS SET FORTH THEREIN. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon, California, did on the 25th day of July, 1939, adopt No. 993, providing for the issuance of Three Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($350,000.00) of bonds of City of Vernon Se~eI' District No. One, which bonds are designated as ffCity of Vernon Sewer District No. One Bonds, Election 1939", and which said Resolution No. 993 was thereafter amended by Resolution No. 1001.. adopted by the City Council on the 17th day of August, 1939, and further amended by Resolution No. 1030, adopted by said City Council on the 17th day of December, 1940; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary for the best interests of the City of Vernon to rephrase the bond, the form of which is set forth in said Resolution No. 993, as amended, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Vernon, do hereby resolve and order as follows: Section 1: That said Resolution No. 993 of the City Council of the City of Vernon, adopted on the 25th day of July, 1939, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by amending the form of bond set forth in Section 1 thereof, to read as follows: nUNITED STATES OF AMEHICA STATE OF CALIFORNIA " CITY OF VERNON SEWER DISTRICT NO. 'ONE BONDS, ELECTION 1939 VERNON, CALIFORNIA March 1, 1940 On the 1st day of N:arch .............(year of maturity)' the City of Vernon, California, will pa.y to the bearer a.t the -1- $ e e office of the City Treasurer of said City of Vernon, in the City of Vernon, state of California,' the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00) with interest thereon, at the rate of per cent ( %) per annum, pay- able, semiannually on the first day of March and the first day of September of each year at the office of the City Treasurer of said City, upon the. presentation and surrender of the interest coupons hereto attached, from the special fund in said City treasury pro- vided by the levying and collection of taxes upon the taxablE'> , . property in said district to pay the interest and principal of this bond. This bond is issued in pursuance of the provisions of an act of the Legislature of the state of California, known as 'Municipal Sewer District Act of 1939', which became a law February 2, 1939. It is hereby certified that all requirements of the Const.itution and laws of the ,state of California and of all Ordinances of the City of Vernon have been fully complied with by the proper officers in the issuing of this bond; that this issue of bonds has been authorized by the-vote of two-thirds (2/3rdS) of the duly qU'B.l~ ified voters of said district voting on the question of said issue at an eleotion duly and regularly called and held in said district on April 11, 1939, and that the total amount of this issue is within the limits prescribed by the Constitution and laws of the state of California, lncluding said 'Municipal Sewer District Act of 1939'; that before or at the time of incurring the indebtedness evidenced hereby, provision has been made for the collection of an annual tax upon the property in said district sufficient to pay the interest on such indebtedness as it falls due,. and also for tlle payment of the principal thereof on or before maturity. The principal and interest of this bond shall be payable exclusively from taxes levied on the taxable property in said -2- e e district I and neither the City nor its officers sha.ll be holden for the payment thereof from anyother source. " Section 2: That. the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution by the City Council of the City of Vernon and cause the same to be posted in three public places in the City of Vernon and likewise in City of Vernon Sewer District No. One, to wit: at the entrance of the City Hall of the City of Vernon, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue; at the Northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; and at the Northwest corner of 37th Street and Santa Fe Avenue. This resolution shall take effect immediately. Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Vernon..
