2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL 0:&' THE CITY OF VERNON ADOPTING
THE ATTACHED BUDGET.

4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
5 TJ~T, WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of Vernon
6 has presented to the City Council for adoption and approval a
7 certain budget designated f1pROJECT STATEMENT NO.1, It and re-
8 quested the City Council to approve and adopt the same.
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

Section 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
11 hereby approve and adopt the attached Project statement No.1;
12
Section 2, The City Engineer of the City of Vernon is
13 hereby authorized, instructed, and empowered to forward two
14 certified copies of this resolution to the State Highway De-
15 partment of the State of California;
16
Section 3: The City Clerk is hereby instructed to cer-
17 tify to the passage of this Resolution, and thereupon and there-
18 after the same shall be in ful

Gentlemen:
The State Highway Department's 1/4 t t'unds,
together with County Road Department funds allocated to
City of Vernon over the last several years now total
approximately the amount which is needed to permanentJ.y
improve Vernon Avenue, between Boyle Avenue and Downey Road.
It is anticipated that we can undertake this
improvement in early spring, after the rains, but it seems
advisable to start now toward securing the necessary
approval of this project by the above named agencies. For
this purpose it is recommended that you approve, by Resolution,
the attached IIProject Statement No. '1", which is the required
application to the State for allocation of our credits to
this specific project.
