A RESOLUTION OF THE OITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, AOOEPT-
ING THE OFFER OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERIOA.
THE OITY OOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
THAT, WHEREAS, there has been filed with the Federal
Works Agency, tor and on behalf of the Oity of Vernon, an appli-
cation for Federal assistance under the Defense Public Works
Program, and the United states of America, acting by and through
the Federal Works Administrator, has transmitted to the City
of Vernon an Offer of Federal Assistance in connection with the
public works referred to in said application and described in
said Offer; and,
WHEREAS, said Offer has been duly read in open meet-
ing and has been tully considered in every respect in accord-
ance with the pertinent rules of procedure and legal require-
ments; and,
WHEREAS, said Offer has been made a part of the public
records of the City of Vernon; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable and in the public
interest that said Offer be accepted:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Vernon that said Offer of the United States of
America" a true and correct copy of which is hereto attached,
be and the same hereby is accepted without reservation or
qualification.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to. the
passage of this Resolution and thereupon the same shall be in
full force and effect.
Adopted and approved by the Oity Council of the City
of Vernon this 21st day of April, 1942.

attached hereto and made a part hereof, the United states or
America hereby offers to make a grant of $92,500 to you in
order to aid in financing the construction of defense public
works, presently estimated to cost $185,000, consisting of
fire protection facilities, including necessary equipment
and the acquisition of necessary land (herein called the
"Project"): Provided, however, that the grant payable here-
under in no event shall exceed the actual cost of the
Project upon completion as determined by tn;-Federal Works
Administrator.
