A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
DECLARING THE PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES TO BE
USED BY THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER IN CARRYING OUT THE C ONTBACT
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF FIRE STATION BUILDING, PUMP HOUSE
A}ID APPURTENANCES ON THE NORTH SIDE OF FRUITLAND AVENUE
NEAR DOWNEY ROAD IN THE CITY OF VERNON, IN ACCORDANCE WITH
SPECIFICATION NO. 134 HERETOFORE APPROVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF T~~ CITY OF VERNON.
THE CITY COUNCI.:LiOF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby find and declare that the prevailing rate per diem
wages for labor, workmen and mechanics employed by contractor
or sub-contractor for the doing of any work set forth in Spec-
ification No. 134, or the Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals
or Bids for the doing of said work, is as follows:

12 For any craft not included in the above list, the
13 minimum per diem wages shall be the general prevailing wages
14 for the locality and shall not be less than $5.00 per day.
15 The foregoing schedule of per diem wages is based
16 on a standard working day of eight hours of continuous employ-
17 ment, except for lunch periods, when a single shift is employed,
18 and seven and one-half hoursof continuous employment, except for
19 lunch periods, when two or more shifts are employed. Work in
20
excess of the above mentioned respective standard days, on
21
Legal Holidays, and in excess of five standard working days
in anyone week shall be permitted only upon compensation there-

for at the rate of one and. one-half times the basic Hourly Wage
Rage here provided:

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to said Labor
Code of California, it shall be mandatory upon the Contractor
to whom the c.ontract is awarded, and upon any Sub-contractor
under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all
laborers, workmen, and mechanics employed by them in the exe-
cution of this contract, which rates shall be included in the

agreement with the successful bidder, regardless of any contractural

2 relationship which may be alleged to exist between the Contractor
3 or any SubcontradDr and such laborers, workmen and mechanics.

Section 2. The City Clark of the City of Vernon
5 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon
6 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
7 Adopted and approved this 18th day of August, 1942.
