2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
DECLARING THE PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES TO BE USED
3 BY TI-<::E SUCCESSFUL BIDDER IN CARRYING OUT THE CONTRACT FOR
THE CONSTURCTION OF REINFORCED CONCRETE WATER STORAGE TANK
4 IN THE CITY OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA, IN ACCORDAITCE WITH SPEC-
IFICATIONS NO. 136, liERETOFORE APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
5 OF TBE CITY OF VEIDWN.
6 THE CITY COUNCIL OF T}1E CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. The City Council of the City o~ Vernon
8 does hereby find and declare that the prevailing rate per diem
9 wage for labor, workmen and mechanics employed by contractor or
10 sub-contractor ~or the doing of any work set forth in S~ecifi-
11 €ation No. 136, or the Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals or
12 Bids ~or the doing of said work, is as follows:

For any craft not included in the above list, the
minimum per diem v~ges shall be the general prevailing wages for
the locality and shall be not less than $5.00 per day.

The foregoing schedule of per diem wages is based on a
standard working day of eight hours of continuous employment,
except for lunch periods, when a single shift is employed, and
seven and one-half hours of continuous employment, except for
lunch periods, when two or more shifts are employed. Work in
excess of the above mentioned respective standard days, on

Legal Holidays, and in excess of five standard working days
in anyone week shall be permitted only upon compensation therefor
at the rate of one and one-half times the basic Hourly Wage~

Rate here provided:
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to said Labor
Code of California,it shall be mandatory upon the Contractor
11

to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any Subcontractor
14
under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all
15
laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execu-
tion of this contract, which rates shall be included in the
16
17
agreement with the successful bidder, regardless of any con-
18
tractural relationship which may be alleged to exist between the
Contractor or any Subeontractor and such laborers, workmen and
mechanics.

Section 2. The City Clerk of the Cityof Vernon'
Shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
