THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Section No. I The City Council of the City of Vernon 9 does hereby find and declare that the prevailing rate per diem 10 wage for labor, workmen and mechanics employed by contractor or 11 sub-contractor for the doing of any work set forth in Work 12 Specification No. 137, or the Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals 13 or Bids for the doing of said work, is as follows: 14 Per Diem Wage $ 9.00 9.00 6.00 5.00 Hourly Wage Rate Hourly Rate For Legal Holidays And Overtime 15 CLASS OF WORK 16 Pump Installers Journeyman Electrician Helpers Laborers $1.125 1.125 0.75 0.625 $ 1.69 1.69 1.125 0.9475 17 18 19 For any craft not included in the above list, the min- imum per diem wages shall be the general prevailing wages for the locality and shall be not less than $5.00 per day. 20 21 22 - The foregoing schedule of per diem wages is based on a standard working day of eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, when a single shift is employed, and seven and one-half hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, when two or 11l0re shifts are employed. Work in excess of the above mentioned respective standard days, on Legal Holidays, and in excess of five standard working days in anyone week shall be permitted upon upon compensation therefor at the rate of one and one-half times the basic Hourly Wage Rate herein provided: 23 24 25 32 I. II uu ___ -,-___ _..~ .., . ~ .,,;:; 1 Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to said Labor 2 Code of California, it shall b~ mandatory upon the c.;ontractor 3 to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any Sub~contractor 4 under him, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all 5 laborers, workmen, and mechanics employed by them in the e xecu- 6 tion of this contract, which rates shall be included in the agree- 7 ment with the successful bidder, regardless of any contractural 8 relationship which may be alleged to exist betwe,en the Contractor 9 or any sub-contractor and such laborers, workmen and mechanics. 10 Section 2. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon 11 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and tbBreupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. 12 13 Adopted and approved this 1st d~y of September, 1942. 14 15 .
