RESOLUTION NO. 1194
viffEREAS, Ordinance No. 562, entitled "AN ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF VERNON FIXING AND ESTABLISHING RATES TO BE
CHARGED FOR THE SALE OF WATER IN SAID CITY, PRESCRIBING CON-
DITIONS AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE USE OF WATER IN SAID
CITY, PROHIBITING THE SALE OF WATER FOR USE OUTSIDE OF THE
CITY OF VERNON, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS, AND REPEAL-
ING ALL ORDIN.A.L~CES IN CONFLICT THEREWITHtt has been introduced
in the City .Council of the City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority conferred by the
Emergency Price Control Act of 1942, as amended, including
sections 1, 2 and 7 (b) of the Act to amend the Emergency Price
Control Act of 1942, and pursuant to Executive Order No. 9250,
dated October 3, 1942, and pursuant to Procedural Regulation 11
of the Office of Price Administration, issued November 12, 1942,
notice of a general increase in the rates or charges of any
public utility is required to be filed with the Transportation
and Public Utilities Division of the Office of Price Administra-
tion at Washington, D.C., thirty (30) days before the effective
date of any such general increase in such rates or charges, and
that each such notice shall contain a statement that the public
utility consents to the timely intervention by the Price Admin-
istrator on behalf of the Director of Economic Stabilization
before the Federal, State or Municipal authority having juris-
diction to consider such increase;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Vernon
does resolve and order as follows:
Section 1: That Tuesday, May 4, 1943, at 3:00 o'clock
P.M. of said day, in the Council Chamber of the City Council of

the City of Vernon, in the City Hall, located at 4305 Santa
Fe Avenue, in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, state
of California, be and the same is hereby fixed as the day, hour
and place when and where any and all persons having any objec-
tions to the proposed Ordinance No. 562 may appear before said
City Council and show cause why said proposed Ordinance should
not be adopted as introduced.
Section 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby consents to the timely intervention by the Price Admin-
istrator on behalf of the Director of Economic Stabilization
at or before the t~e fixed for hearing on said Ordinance No.
562.
Section 3: The city Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby authorized and instructed to notify the Transportation
and Public utilities Division of the Office of Price Administra-
tion of the t~e, place and purpose of the hearing on said
Ordinance No. 562, and is further authorized and instructed to
execute all such notices as may be required pursuant to the
provisions of said Procedural Regulation 11.
Section 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this resolution and cause the same to be posted in three (3)
public places located in the City of Vernon, to wit: the north-
west corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northwest
corner of 37th street and Santa Fe Avenue, and on the bulletin
board in the lobby of the City Hall of the City of Vernon, located
at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue in said City.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
PASSED Al1D ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Vernon, and approved by the Mayor of said City, this 16th day
of March, 1943.

the Council of the City of Vernon is five (5); that the fore-
going resolution, being Resolution No. 1194, was passed and
adopted by said city Council, approved and signed by the Mayor,
and attested by the city Clerk of said city, all at a regular
meeting of the said City Council of the City of Vernon held
on the 16th day of March, 1943, and that the same was so passed
and adopted by the following vote:
