A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON CONSENT-
ING TO AND APPROVING TEE ACTION OF '.rHE BOABD OF S UPERVIS ORB OF
THE COUNft OF LOS ANGELES.. STATE OF CALIFORNIA.. IN ADOPTING A
RESOLUTION DECLARING A PORTION OF SLAUSON AVENUE A ,PART OF THE
COUNTY SYSTEM OFHIGRWAYS OF THE' SAID COUNTY OF LOO ANGELES.
THE Cln COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLO'IS:
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, did on the 1st day of July,
1943 declare a portion of Slauson Avenue from Boyle Avenue to
Downey Road in the City of Vernon a part of the County system
of highways of said Los Angeles Coumty, to be improved with
asphaltic concrete pavement, cement curb, gutter and drainage
structures, as set forth in said resolution, and

Gentlemen:
In reply to the letter from the Board of Super-
visors in" reference to the improvement of Slauson Avenue
from Boyle 'Avenue to Downey Road, Sections. 1700 to 1702 of
the Street and Highway Code of the State of California is
authority for the request of the Board of Supervisors. The
City Council in granting this request does not lose any of
its police authority over the street.
I would recommend that the City Council grant per~
mission to the Board of Supervisors to dec~are to be a part
of the County Highway System Slauson'Avenue from Boyle Avenue
to Downey Road for the purpose of improvement with asphaltic
concrete pavement, cement concrete durb, gutter and drainage
structures.
