STATE OF CALIFORNIA.. IN ADOPTING A RESOLUTION DECLARING A PORTION OF SLAUSON AVENUE A ,PART OF THE COUNTY SYSTEM OFHIGRWAYS OF THE' SAID COUNTY OF LOO ANGELES. Gentlemen: In reply to the letter from the Board of Super- visors in" reference to the improvement of Slauson Avenue from Boyle 'Avenue to Downey Road, Sections. 1700 to 1702 of the Street and Highway Code of the State of California is authority for the request of the Board of Supervisors. The City Council in granting this request does not lose any of its police authority over the street. I would recommend that the City Council grant per~ mission to the Board of Supervisors to dec~are to be a part of the County Highway System Slauson'Avenue from Boyle Avenue to Downey Road for the purpose of improvement with asphaltic concrete pavement, cement concrete durb, gutter and drainage structures.
