A RESOLUTION OF Th""E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON~ APPROV-
ING NLEMORANDUM 01" AGREEMENT FOR ACCUMULATION OF 1/4 CENT GAS
TAX ALLOCATED FOR STREETS OF MAJOR IMPORTANCE AND FOR STATE
HIGHWAYS .
THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIIE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WEEBEAS, a memorandum of agreement has been presented
to be entered into with the State of California for accumulation
of the 1/4 cent gas tax allocated for streets of major impor-
tance other than State highways and the 1/4 cent gas tax for
State highways for the fiscal year 1944 in the City of Vernon,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has heard read said agree-
ment in full and is familiar with the contents thereof:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Vernon that, under the provisions of Section 200 of
the Streets and Highways Code, the 1/4 cent gas tax allocated
for streets of major importance other than State Righways, and for

State Highways be accumulated for future expenditure, and that
said agreement be and the same is hereby approved, and the Mayor
and the City Clerk are directed to sign the same on behalf of said
City, said agreement to be binding upon the City upon its execu-
tion by the authorized officials of the State.

It is recommended that Resolution be
approved providing for the execution of this
agreement by the proper City officials.

Enclosed in triplicate is memorandum of agreement
foraenlWhulat\10n of 1!4-cent gas tax for Streets ofMaj or
Importance within your dity for the 1944 fiscal year,
in accordance with the project statement submitted by you.
You will find attached to each copy a suggested
form of resolution for execution of the agreement by the
city. The form has been prepared for the city's conven-
ience and need not be used if it conflicts with the city's
practice ~
The agreement should be signed by an official duly
authorized by law to execute agreement s on behalf of the.
city and should be accompanied by a certified copy of the
resolution of the city council approving the agreement and
authorizing the officer to sign said agreement.
Your attention is called to the white slip attached
to the original and duplicate copies and also to the neces-
sity of dating the agreement and affixing the official seal
of the city thereto.
After the agreement has been signed by the city,
please return the original and duplicate to this office;
the third enclosed copy is for your files. Following
the execution of the original and duplicate copy by the
Director of Public Works, the duplicate executed copy will
be returned to you.
