RESOLUTION NO. 1234
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, E~TENDING
TI~~ FOR LA~~ & BOvVLER TO FURNISH ONE DEEP wELL TURBINE Pt~
AND APPURTENANCES.
Th'E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF' VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
THAT~ WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has heretofore
entered intoa written contract with Layne & Bowler Corporation
to furnish and install for the City one deep well turbine pump
and appurtenances wherein the said Layne & Bowler Corporation
agreed to complete and install said deep well turbine pump and
appurtenances on or before the 16th day of December, 1943, and
WHEREAS the said Layne & Bowler Corporation has been
unable to install said deep well turbine pump and appurtenances
at the time agreed upon through no fault of its own, and
VV.KEREAS, Layne & Bowler Corporation has requested the
extension of time up to and including February l4, 1944 for
the furnishing and installing of said deep well turbine pump
and appurtenances in accordance with Specification No. 137, and
VVrlEREAS the City Engineer of the City of Vernon has
recommended in writing to the City Council of the City of Vernon
that an extension of time as requested by Layne & Bower Corporation
be granted:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE I'l' RESOLVED:
Section 1. That Layne & Bowler Corporation be granted
an extension of time up to and including F'ebruary 14, 1944 to
complete its contract with the City of Vernon to furnish and
install one deep well turbine pump and appurtenances in accordance
with Specification No. 137.
Section 2. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
