RESOLUTION No. 1248
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF' THE CITY OF VERNON. EXTEND-
ING TI:ME FOR LAYNE & BOWLER CORPffiATION TO FURNISH ONE DEEP WELL,
TURBINE PUMP AND APPURTENANCES"
THE CITY COtTNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLlrE AS POLLOWS:
THAT, WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has heretofore enter-
ed into a written contract with Layne & Bowler Corporation to
furnish and install for the City one deep well turbine pump and
appurtenances wherein the said Layne & Bowler Corporation agreed
to complete and install said deep well turbine pump and appurte-
nances on or before the 16th day of December, 1943, and
WHEREAS the said Layne & Bowler Cor~.oration has been
unable to install said deep well turbine pump and appurtenances
at the time agreed upon through no fault of its own, and
WHEREAS ,Layne & Bowler Corporation has requested the
extension of time up to and including :March 3, 1944 for the furn-
ishing and installing of said deep well turbine pump and appur-
tenances in accordance with Specification No. 137, and
VmEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of Vernon has
recommended in writing to the City 00uncil of the City of Vernon
that an extension of time as requested by Layne & Bowler Corpor-
ation be granted:
NOW, TEEREFORE, BE IT RESOL\IED:
Section 1. ,That Layne & Bow:\er Corporation be granted
an extension of time up to and including March 3, 1944 to com-
plete its contract with the City of Vernon to furnish and install
one deep well turbine pump and appurtenances in accordance with
Specification No. 137.
Section 2.
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to certify to the passage of this resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
