A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF VERNON CON-
SENTING TO AND APPROVING THE ACTION OF TEE BOARD OF SUPERVISO~
OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, IN ADOPTING
A RESOLUTION DECLARING DOWNEY ROAD FROM THE SOUTHERLY CITY
BOUNDARY AT FRUITLAND AVENUE NORTHERLY TO THE SOUTH LINE OIl'
HOLABIRD AVENUE, A PART OI~ THE COUNTY SYSTEM' OF HIGHWAYS OF
SAID COUNTY OF Lee ANGELES"
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

THAT, WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, did on October 3, 1944 declare
Downey Road from the Southerly City Boundary at Fruitland Avenue
Northerly to the South Line of Holabird Avenue, in the City of
Vernon, a part of the County System of Highways of said County
of Los angeles, to be improved and resurfaced with Premix Pave-

ment, as set forth in said resolution, and
WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors of said County has re-
quested the consent of the City Council of the City of Vernon

to perform said acts:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RES OL liED:

The City Council of the City of Vernon

does hereby consent to and approve the action of the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles in declaring Downey
Road from the Southerly City Bounaary at Fruitland Avenue,
Northerly to the South Line of Holabird Avenue in the City of
Vernon to be a part of the County System of Highways of Los Ange-
les County, as provided in sections l700,a.nd 1702 inclusive of
the Street and Highway Code of the State of California.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Vernon does
further consent to the improvement by said County of Los Angeles
of Downey Road from the Southerly City Boundary at .F'rui tland
Avenue, Northerly to the South Line of Holabird Avenue in the
City of Vernon in the manner provided for in said resolution
of the Board of Supervisors of said County of Los Angeles

Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
is hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Resolu-
tion and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full
force and effect.

that the following resolution be, and the same is hereby adopted, to wit:
WHEREAS, by reason of its location and travel thereon, the herein-
after described street in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, should be a part of the system of county highways
in said county; and
WHEREAS, it is the purpose of the Board of Supervisors of said County
to improve said street, provided the consent of the governing body of
said City shall first be given:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Los Angeles, State of California, that the following named
street between the limits thereof hereinafter indicated, and being
vnthin the City of Vernon, is hereby declared to be a part of the County
System of Highways in said County, as provided in Sees. 1700 to 1702
inclusive, of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by said Board of Supervisors that said street
be improved by said County in the manner hereinafter set forth, provided
the consent of the governing body of said City shall first be given,
