THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That public interest, convenience and necessity require and it is hereby found and determined that public interest, convenience and necessity require, and the City Council of the City of Vernon does hereby order the c ondemna- tion of the hereinafter-described property for a public use. Section 2. That the public use for which said land hereinafter described to be condemned, is to be used is, to-wit: a municipal pumping station to be a part of the city's water system for the development of water wells, and the pumping of water therefrom for the erection of the necessary pumping equipment therein, together with the erection of a necessary reservoir for the storage of water, with all of the necessary buildings in conjunction with the operation and maintenance of a city pumping plant required to carry out the purpose of the use. All water so developed and produced from said land is to be used to supply the city and its inhabitants with water with- in the corporate limits of said city. Section 3. Section 4: That the land described in Section 3 hereof to be taken for the use described in Section 2 hereof, is located in a manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public good and the least private injury. Section 5: That the City Attorneyct the City of Vernon is hereby directed to bring an'action in the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the County of Los Angeles, in the name of the City of Vernon for the condemna- tion of the property described in Section 3 of this resolution, against the owners and claimants of said property, or any part thereof, pursuant to and in accordance with Title VII, Part 3 of the Code of Civil Procedure of the State of California, and. for his services he shall receive such additional compensation as approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon. Section 6: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and upon said certification and ap- proval thereof by the Mayor, the same shall be in full force and effect.
