RESOLUTION NO. 1278
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON FINDING
THAT THE STREET A1TD PARTS OF STREET AND ALLEY REFERRED TO IN
ORDINANCE OF INTENTION NO. 588 are UNNECESSARY FOR PRESENT OR
PROSPECTIVE PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES, AND ORDERING THEIR VACATION
AND ABANDONMENT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
THAT, WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Vernon
did on August 28, 1945 pass its Ordinance of Intention No. 588
declaring its intention to vacate and abandon a portion of that
certain public street in the C~tyof Vernon known as Irving Street
lying northerly of 37th street and the first alley west of Santa
Fe Avenue and north of said 37th street in said city, and
WHERE4S, the City Council in said Ordinance of In-
tention No. 588 did fix the time for all persons interested
in or objecting to the proposed vacation and abandonment as
September 18, 1945 at 3:00 o'clock P. M. in said City Council
Chambers of said City of Vernon, State of California at 4305
Santa Fe Avenue,. in said City; and
WHEREAS,notices of said meeting were posted in the
manner and form required by law, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon did
hold said meeting on said September, 18, 1945 at 3:00 o'clock
p. M. in the City Council Chambers, said date being the date of
the regular meeting of the City Council of said City:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Ver-
non does find and decla re from the evidence submitted to the
City Council that the property described in Ordinance of In-
tention No. 588, and hereinafter described, is unnecessary for
present or prospective public street purposes.

that portion of Irving Street lying northerly of 37th Street,
ahd the first alley west of Santa Fe Avenue and north of said

37th street, described as follows:
(a) All that part of Irving Street (50') wide
lying northerly of the northerly line of Murial Avenue
(now 37th street) as shewn on corrected map of Aldine
Square Tract, recorded in Book 29, page 12, Miscella-
neous Records of Los Angeles County,California;
(b) All that part of the first alley (12.0 ft.
Wide ) lying westerly of Santa Fe Avenue and northerly
of the northerly line of Murial Avenue (now 37th Street)
as shown on corrected map of the Aldine ~quare Tract,
recorded in Book 29, page 12, Miscellaneous Records of
Los Angeles County, Caliofrnia
be, and the same is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned
for pubbic street purposes as contemplated by Ordinance of
Intention No. 588 of the City of Vernon, approved August 28,
1945.
Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
cause a certified copy of this Resolution under the seal of
the City to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of
Los Angeles County, California, being the County in which the
said City of Vernon is located.
Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to certify to the passage of this resolution,
and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force
and effect.
