2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, GRANTING
TO ERNEST GILES A LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR AN UNDETERMINED PERIOD.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

5 THAT, WHEREAS, Ernest Giles, Chief of Police of the
6 City of Vernon by order of Court has been sentencea to pay a
7 fine of $300.00 and be committe4 to the County Jail ~6r a period
8 of sixty (60) days; and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon having
10 absolute and complete confidence in the Chief of Police and be-
II lieving him innocent' of the offense charged against him,. and
12 during his term of office he has proved himself to be a man of
13 honor and integrity and a faithful police officer:
14 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

Section 1.
That Ernest Giles be granted a leave of
16 absence for an undetermined time not to exceed ninety days.
17
Section 2.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to
18 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
19 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
