RESOLUTION NO. 1285
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AGREEING
TO CONTRIBUTE ITS SHARE OF THE TOTAL COST OF THE REPAIR, REPLACE-
MENT AND REBUILDING OF THE LOS ANGELES OUTFALL SEWER SYSTEM AND
TREATMENT PLANT, AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 1281.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
THAT, WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has for many years
last past disposed of and is now disposing of a portion of its
sewage through the facilities of the Los Angeles Outfall Sewer
System, under and pursuant to written agreements therefor
executed by the City of Vernon and the City of Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon is
advised that it is necessary to repair, replace and reconstruct
portions of the Los Angeles Outfall sewer System in order that
the sewage disposed of thereby shall not be dangerous to health
and shall not constitute a nuisance:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon deems it
for the best interests of the City of Vernon that it continue to
dispose ofrsuch sewage through the facilities of the Los Angeles
Outfall Swwer System; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:

That when the amount of money to be contributed by
the City of Vernon as its share or portion of the total costs of
the repair, replacement or rebuilding of the Los Angeles Outfall
Sewer System and Treatment Plant used in connection therewith,
has been determined by order or judgment of a court of competent
jurisdic~ion or by order or judgment of the court in the action
entitled "The People of the State of California, plaintiff,
versus City of Los Angeles, a Municipal Corporation, et al, de-
fendants, No. 489890," pending in the Superior Court of the
State of California, in and for the County of Los Angeles, or by

agreement between the City of Los Angeles and the City of Vernon~
the City Council of the City of Vernon will then take the
necessary steps to provide the funds necessary to be contributed
by the City of Vernon.
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution and there-
upon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
Resolution No. 1281 adopted on December 11~1945 be
and the same is hereby repealed.
