RESOLUTION NO. 1325
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUl'lCIL OF THE CITY OF VERIfON APPOINT-
ING ROBERT J. 'FURLONG AS COUl'lCILMAN IN PLACE OF J. J. PO'.XOll"
AND TO ACT AS SAID COUNCILMAN UNTIL THE NEXT GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION.
. THE CITY COUl'lCIL OF THE CITY OF VERIfON DOES RESoLVE AS FOLLOWS!
6 THAT, WHEREAS, the office of Councilman J. J. Poxon hav-
7 ing her~tofore become vacant by virtue of said J. J. Paxon join-
8 ing the armed services; amd
9 , VlJ;fl!;.tu!;AS, COUNCILMAN POXON has sent in his resigna.tioni.to
10 take effect on November 1, 1946; and
11 WHEREAS, it is the duty of the city council under the
12 general laws or the State of California to appoint a resident of ,
13 the city of Vernon to the office of City Councilman; and
14 WHEREAS, ROBERT J. FURLONG, is qualified under the law
15 for said appointment:
16 NOW, THEREFORE" BE IT RESOLVED:

Section 1.' That Robert J.Furlong be, and he is he~eb,.
18 appointed as Councilman in the place and for the said J~ J. Poxon,
19 he, the said Robert J. Furlong to serve until the next general
20 municipal election.

Section 2.
That the City Clerk be and ~e 1s hereby
22 authorized in the name of said city to send a letter or appre-
23 cia tion to the said J. J. Poxont. for the services he has render-
24 ed to the City during his term of office.
