THE CIfi COUNCIL OF THE CIft OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

6 THA'f' WHEREAS, the paint Lng of streets, curbs and cross-
7 walks wi thin the city of Vemon has heretofore been under the
8 direction and supervision of the Street Deparit1l.e.nt of said
9 city; and
10 WHEREAS the City Council of said city deems that it is
11 to the best interests of the City that the duty and responsi-
12 bility of street painting be referred to the Police Department:
13 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLL01lS:

Section 1.
'fha.t the Police Department of the City
15 of Vernon shall from and after August 20, ;1.947 have full super-
16 vision'and control and responsibility for the proper painting
17 of streets" curbs and cross-walks within the City of Vernon.

Section 2.
That all paint
and other equipment
19 in the hands of the Street Department affecting the painting
20 of streets,curbs and cross walks be transferred to the Police
21 Department of sa.id City.
22 Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
23 is hereby directed to certify to the passage of this reeolu-
24 tion and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full
25 force and effect.
