RESOLUTION NO. 1374
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPROVING
THE ACTION OF EDWARD R. YOUNG, SPECIAL COUNSEL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON, IN APPLYING FOR AND SECURING A CERTAIN BOND REQUIRED ON
APPEAL, BY THE SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES FOR A WRIT OF
CERTIORARI.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'mE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS" Special Counsel of the City of Vernon, Edward
R. Young" did, in the name of the City, secure from Fidelity
and Deposit Company of Maryland, a bond in the principal sum
of Five Thousand Dollars ($5000.00) required to be deposited
to stay execution on a judgment in the case of the People of
the State of California" plaintiff, vs. The City of Vernon, and
t
its Defendant Officers and Employees, Defendants, #15691, in
the District Court of Appeals in the State of California, Second
Appellate District" Division One; said bond was in the penal
sum of $5000.00, and said bond at this date" through the efforts
of the Special Counsel has been approved and filed in the
District Court of Appeals:
NOW" THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1:
That the action of Edward R. Young,
Special Counsel of the City of Vernon, inapplying for and
securing said above-mentioned bond" be" and the same is rati-
fied and approved" and the City of Vernon hereby agrees to
pay the annual premium on said bond in the amount of One Hun-
dred Dollars ($100.00).
Section 2:
The City Treasurer of the City of Vernon
be, and he is hereby instructed to set apart in a special fund
the sum of Five thousand dollars ($5000.00) to be held for the
purpose of indemnifying and saving said Fidelity & Deposit
Company of Maryland harmless from any liability which may arise
out of or result from its execution of said bond.
Section 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
