RESOLUTION NO. 1393
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VElmON ESTABLISH-
ING THE PREVAILING RATE PER DIEM OF WAGES TO BE PAID BY THE SUC-
CESSFUL BIDDER IN CARRYING OUT THE CONTRACT FOR THE FURNISHIlfG
AND DELIVERY OF MATERIAL AND CONSTRUCTION OF A FEliCE AROUlID
PUMPING PLANT NO. 2 OF THE CITY OF VERNON, CALIFORIfIA, IN ACCOR-
DANCE WIm SPECIFICATIOlf NO. 144.
THE CI'fi COUJICIL OF THE CITY OF VERlfOlt DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby fix and declare the prevailing rate per diem wages
for laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by contractor or
sub-contractor for the doing of any work set forth in Speci--
fication No. 144 of the City of Vernon, or the Notice inviting
sealed proposals or bids for the doing of said work, as follows:
FOREMEN: All Foremen shall be paid not less than
$17.80 per eight (8) hour day.
ORNAMENTAL IRON MAKER: $15.80 per eight (8) hour
day.
~ORER: $10.80 per eight (8) hour day.
(May be emplpyed in conformity with Section 1177.5
of the California Labor Code.)
Providing that not less than one and one-half (ll)
times the prevailing rate shall be paid for any working time
more than eight (8) hours during any calendar day ad for
time on Saturdays, Sundays and the seven legal holidays pro-
vided for under the laws of the State of California.
The foregoing prevailing wage schedule is based
upon a working day of eight (8) hours, and in the event
that laborers, workmen or mechanics are employed less than
e1ght (8) hours per day., the rate of per diem wages to be
deemed to be that fraction of the foregoing rate that the
number of hours of employment bears to eight.
Notice is hereby given that pursuant to said Labor
Code of California, it shall be mandatory upon the contractor

to whom the contract is awarded., or upoa any sub-contractor
under him, to pay all laborers., workmen and mechanics employed
by them ia the execution of the contract not less than the
said specified rates, which rates shall be included in the
contract to the successful bidder.
Section 2. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certi~y to the passage of this Resolution, and thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in ~ull force and effect.
