RESOLUTION NO. 1413
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AWARDING
TO G.M.C. TRUCK & COACH DIVISION., GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION
THE CONTRACT FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERING OF ONE G.M.C.
TRUCK .MODEL #FF-453, INCLUDING SPECIAL.EQUIPMENT AS SPECIFIED
IN SPECIFICATIONS #146., OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND THE NOTICE
INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
THAT., WHEREAS, the City has heretofore publicly ad-
vertised for bids for the furnishing and delivery of one motor
truck descriped in Specifications #146 and the Notice Inviting
Sealed Proposals or bids; and
WHEREAS the City Engineer of the City of Vernon has
checked all bids and has reported in writing to the City Council
of the City of Vernon that the bid of G.M.C. TRUCK & COACH
DIVISION, GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION was the lowest and best
bid; and
WHEREAS, the bid of G.M.C. TRUCK & COACH DIVISION,
GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION for the furnishing and delivery of
said motor truck to the City of Vernon in accordance with
Specifications #146 was for the sum of $4124.52, sales tax
paid, and allowing the sum of $280.00 on the old 1936 Dodge
one and one-half ton truck:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOL\lED:
Section 1.
That all bids heretofore received for
the furnishing and delivery of the motor truck referred to in
Specifications #146 and the Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals
or Bids be, and the same are hereby rejected with the exception
of the bid of G. M. C. TRUCK AND COACH DIVISION., GENERAL MOTORS
CORPORATION and that it be awarded the contract at the price
nf $4124.52, including California Sales Tax and an allowance of
$280.00 on the old 1936 Dodge one and one-half ton truck.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby instructed and

empowered to return all checks to the unsuccessful bidders.
Section 3.
The City Attorney of the City of Vernon
is authorized to draw a contract in the name of the City to
conform to the bid of said Contractor and Specifications #146, sad!
the Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals or bids.
Section 4.
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to certify to the passage of this resolution
and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force
and effect.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED, December 7th., 1948.
