RESOLUTION No. 1426
A RESOLU'rION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AU'rfIOR-
IZING THE ADVANCEMENT OF $4000.00 FOR THE IMMEDIATE REPAIR OF
WA TEfl WELL NO. 7 OF THE CITY OF VERNON.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
THAT, WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of
Vernon did file with the City Council of said City a report
dated March 13, 1949 wherein said Engineer requested an emer-
gency expenditure for the immediate repair of Water Well No. 7
so as to avoid the necessity of a complete loss ?f said well; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that a
real emergency exists and it is necessary that immediate action
be taken to repair said well so as to avoid if possible the
complete loss thereof:
NOW, 'fHEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of
Vernon does hereby declare that public interest and necessity
demand the immediate expenditure of public money for the repair
of Water Well No. 7 of said City so as to avoid the possibility
of a complete loss of said water well.
Section 2. The Citt Council does hereby authorize
the appropriation of $4000.00. for emergency expenditures for the
repair of said water well No.7.
Section 3. The City Engineer is hereby authorized
to employ Barber-Bridge Drilling Corporation., Ltd. to furnish
material., labor and equipment necessary to make the repairs
upon said Water Well No.7, as soon as same can possibly be done.
Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to certify to the passage of this resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
