RESOLUTION NO. 1429,
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VEmON
EMPLOYING EDWARD R. YOUNG AS SPECIAL COUNSEL IN THE 14A.TTER
OF REPRESENTING THE CITY OF VERNON IN A SUIT AGAINST THE
CITY OF LOS ANGELES TO DETERMINE CERTAIN RIGHTS UNDER
VARIOUS SEWER CONTRACTS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF mE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS :
Section 1. That an action be brought by the City ot
Vernon against 'the City 01' Los Angeles to determine 'the
rights. duties and obligations of 'the City ot Vernon under
the various contraots made and existing between the two
oities relating to the disposal of sewage arising in tke
City of Vernon, being Contracts dated March 18, 19096
August II, 1925, June 29, 1931. am August 10, 1938; and
that Edward R. Young be employed as counsel for the City
of Vernon to bring such action and to represent the City
of Vernon as its attorney in all matters and proceedings
in connectlonwlth said action.
Section 2. That the City Cotmcil of the City of
Vernon does hereby agree to compensate the said Edward R.
Young in a reasonable amount for all services rendered in
the above entitled matter.
Section 3. The City Clerk of 'the City of Vernon 1s
hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Resolu-
tlon and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.
Adopted and approved this 5th day of April, 1949.

do hereby certify that 'the foregoing Resolution No. 1429, was
duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Vernon. and
approved by the Mayor of said City at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 5th day of April, 1949.

ried, the following resolution was adopted:
