3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
DECLARING THE PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES TO BE
4 USED IN FURNISHING OF HOUSING, SHAFT AND THE APPURTENANCES,
INCLUDING INCIDENTAL WORK FOR HOUSING OF AN ELECTRICAL
5 PASSENGER ELEVATOR IN THE CITY HALL IN THE CITY OF VERNON
ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ENGINEERS SPECIFICATIONS
6 NO. 151, AND FOR FURNISHING AND INSTALLING AN ELECTRIC
PASSENGER ELEVATOR AND APPURTENANCES IN SAID CITY HALL
7 IN THE CITY OF VERNON, IN ACCORDANCE WITH ENGINEER'S
SPECIFICATION NO. 152. BOTH OF WHICH SPECIFICATIONS
8 WERE HERETOFORE APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON.

11 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

Seotion 1: The City Counoil of the City of Vernon
13 has asoertained and hoes hereby find and deolare that the
14 general prevailing rate per diem for wages for laborers, work.
15 men and meohanics employed by contractors and subwcontractors;
16 for the doing of any work set forth in Specifications No. 151
17 and 152, which Speoifications were duly adopted by the City
18 Council on January 24th, 1950, in resolutions No. 1463 and
19 11464; is as follows:

The general prevailing rate of the per diem wages,
21 rates for Legal Holidays and overtime work, in the locality in
22 which this work is to be performed, for each craft or type of
23 workman or mechanic needed to execute the contraot which will
24 be awarded to the successful bidder, is determined to be as
25 follows:

be paid not less than $1.40 per day more than the journeyman
rate for the craft involved.
Apprentices: May be employed in conformity with Section 1777.5
of the California Labor Code.

Provided that not less than one and one-half times
the prevailing rate shall be paid for any working time more
21 Ithan eight hours during anyone calendar day, and for time
22 Ion Saturdays, Sundays and the seven legal hOlidays, to-wit:
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day,
23 Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Provided that notwithstanding the general provision
24 contained herein, Flagmen, Guards and Watchmen shall be paid
25 one and one-half times the prevailing rate for overtime ~over-
ime shall be timed worked in excess of eight hours per day .or
orty hours per week), and the straight prevailing rate for
ime worked on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays where suoh time
oes not constitute overtime.
The foregoing prevailing wage schedule is based upon
working day of eight hours and in the event that laborers,
orkmen or mechanics are employed less than eight hours per
ay. the rate of per diem wages shall be deemed to be that
raction of the foregoing rates that the number of hours of
mployment bears to eight.

1 The rate of oompensation for any olassifioation
not listed in the sohedule but whioh may be required to exe-
2 oute the proposed work, shall be oommensurate and in aooord
with the rates speoified for similar and oomparable olassifi-
3 oation for those performing similar or oomparable duties.

Section 2: The City Clerk of the City'of Vernon
5 shall oertify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon
6 and thereafter the same shall be in full foroe and effect.
7 Adopted and approved at a regular adjourned Meeting
8 of said Counoil this 27th day of January 1950.
