A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND BE
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN' AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND
THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON PARK IN REGARD TO THE INSTALLATION AND
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT THE INTERSECTION OF BOYLE AVENUE
AND SLAUSON AVENUE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERlON DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:

THAT, WHEREAS the City of Huntington Park has a program for
the installation of traffic signals throughout the city; and
WHEREAS the signals at the intersection of Boyle Avenue and
Slauson Avenue are partly in the City of Huntington Park and
partly in the City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS the otfice of the City Engineer of the City of
Huntington Park and the office of the City Engineer of the City
of Vernon have each approved the plans for the installation of
said signals at the intersection of Boyle Avenue and Slauson
Avenue and have each approved the estimated cost thereof (approxk
lmate~y.llOO.OO for each city) and have agreed that the cost of
the installation of the signals at Boyle Avenue and Slauson
Avenue shall be borne equally by the City of Huntington Park and
the City of Vernon, the installation in eacb ease to be made by
the City of Huntington Park; the City of Huntington Park to be
responsible tor the maintenance and upkeep ot the signale at the
intersection above mentioned. the City of Huntington Park and the
City of Vernon to share in the cost of maintenance and upkeep as
follows:

of Huntington Park, a municipal corporation, hereinatDer referred
to as "First City," and the City of Vernon, a municipal corpo~
ation, hereinafter referred to as "Second City,'

WHEREAS First City has a program; for the ins tallation of
traffic Signals throughout the city; and

WHEREAS the traffic signals at the'intersectlon of Boyle Avenue
and Slauson Avenue are partly in the jurisdiction of First City and
partly in the jurisd.iction of Second, City;
NOW, THEREFORE, in consid,eration of the mutual covenants and
ag~eements herein contained, IT IS HEREBY AGREED AS FOLLOWS:
FIRST: First City agrees tOJinstall traffic signals in accord8
an'. with plans approved by the Engineering Department of Second
City at the intersection of Boyle Avenue and Slauson Avenue, lying
partly in First City and partly in Second City, and Second City
agrees to pay its share of said installation at the rate indicated
