A RES OLU TI ON OF CONDOLEN CE, OF THE CI TY COUN CIL OF 'mE CI TY OF
VEP..NON, ON THE PASSING OF CHARLES R. SMURR, MANAGER OF THE
VERNON INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION OF THE CI TY OF VERNON.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

WHEREAS, providence has seen fit to terminate the mortal
career of our friend and colleague, Charles R. smurr, having
7
passed into Rest on the 8th day of June, 1950, and
WHEREAS, by- this transition, the City of Vernon, and

the industrial organizations thereof, have lost a valuable and
conscientious servant and citizen, whose sterling worth and
genial disposition endeared him to those who knew him best, and
WHEREAS, his connection with the City of Vernon in a semi-
public position from 1928 to the time of his demise has left an
ineffaceable imprint upon many activities of the City of Vernon,
and the City Government thereof, and
WHEREAS, each member of the City Council feels deeply the
loss thus sustained,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1. That this Resolution be adopted by the City

Council in regular session, and a copy thereof be spread upon
the Minutes of this Meeting, and a copy of said Resolution be
forwarded to the bereaved family of Charles R. Smurr.
Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to
certify to the passage of this Resolution.
Adopted and Approved this 5th day of July,/j950.
